Are you turned on?

Well, we are! (This morning, anyway.)

We lost power yesterday due to the massive thunderstorms all over the midwest (there is lovely footage of several tornados on CNN Headline News right now).

A few limbs blew off some of our big trees in back and up and down the street there are downed branches in almost every yard.

It turned our family evening of popcorn and a children's movie into candles and scary stories and coloring by candlelight. Then our kids wandered around the darkened house with flashlights. They had a blast.

We managed to find a radio station out of Kansas City to follow the weather since the area stations were off the air. (Good to find another use for those C batteries???) ;)

Of course, once the kids went to bed I wanted my computer and hubby wanted to read his latest Clancy. (It is tough to read by candlelight or flashlight.)

And THEN the lightning storms were so bad they advised us to NOT take baths or showers - which blew my terrific idea of bubbles, warm water, candlelight and sex all to hell.

Hmph.

At least the beer was still cold.

We've got your thunderstorms this morning, but they must have lost most of their power along the way. Now they're just booming around, and scaring the horses.

They gave us a Severe Thunderstorm Warning but it didn't even cloud up much, and didn't rain at all. They said later the storms had made a hard rigght turn to go see Boston.

To each his own.

They are predicting rain again today; I just hope it isn't the crap from last night.

Usually the big storms don't hit until late July - August. Makes me wonder if we're in for a rough tornado season.

turn on

I know what you mean it was a hellof a light show. I lost a tree that my grandfather planted forty years ago. It was a red maple. Lost a few limbs from some other maples. Lost the lights about ten thirty they came back on around three. I guess we had a couple of inchs of rain.

I'm guessing they are coming my way soon...I love storms, especially thunderstorms. The lightening show exictes me!!

Summer rainstorms as my favorite!

Sunday afternoon,

We are getting hit hard right now with lightning. Lost my PC several times in the last half hour.

The rain is heavy at times, but then fades off. Thankfully it never seems to last more than an hour or two here.

Feeling bad for the linesmen/women who are out in it. Well atleast I don't have to water the flowers today!
