I have an idea, don't these community health places have tests, where you can like get a 'clean bill of health'?

Like a card: "I'm STD free." (With an effective date)

Seriously...

I totally agree....it would make the whole dating process so much easier if everyone already had a card...then all you have to do is ask to see the card and everything is set...no worrying!!

Wonderful idea Zamdrist!!!

As opposed to a letter from your doc with your last test results?

Cards would likely be easy to fake, just like ID cards.

And surely any one can make a fake copy of this so called

"I'm STD free"... card.

Fine, a letter, a certificate, brand my penis with: STD FREE

:D

Doesn't have to be a card.

Damn you Cheyenne .. as I was writing ... your post beat mine !

You think to fast ... :) :p

Sigh.

I'm not asking you if you are STD free.

The question is...can you get one of these tests, and get something 'offical' in return...

How rude it would be of me to ask such a question.

Ohhhhhhhhh, my bad!!
Well surely the doctor would give you a paper or something stating it if you asked!!

Along this line of thought...

What about those with STD's? Could they get a little card stating which ones they had? So, in a potential partner, you could just show your little cards. You got herpes? Yep. Me too! Wow, let's shag!

What? It could happen.

People with STD's don't just stop having sex, do they?

Well, they say Herpes is the gift that keeps on givin'.

But not all STDs are like that right? Gohnorheea (sp?) Crabs, etc...

So I guess it would make sense for those with Herpes and AIDS.

the safest thing to do

would be to go to the doctor or clinic together to get tested, and receive your results together. That way there's no worries about information being falsified.

I'd have no problem doing this someone.

Yeah.. but you would have to set up for re-testing... just becuase you get a clean bill once... isn't a lifetime pass...

I can see going into a bar... you show me your card.. I'll show you mine.... Oh gonnorhea? That's too bad... I'm sure your a really nice girl... well nice meeting you.

Read my post.

I'm disease-free and i know the answer to the question, as well.

Okay, boys and girls, take out your phone books.
1. Turn to the Government section. In my phone book, it's the blue section at the front of the book.

2. Find the listings for you county.

3. Find whatever your local equivalent is for what we here in my county call the Sonoma County Health Services Department.

4. Find the Clinical Services or Public Health or something like that listing.

5. Call it and make an appointment for some (should be) free and anonymous STD testing.

6. Go have the tests done.

7. Wait the necessary amount of time for the results to come back.

8. Carry the results around with you if you like.

A caveat: Those results are only good for the instant the test is done and you know it. They're meaningless after that because every single encounter has the potential to change the, uh, viral/bacterial load in your bloodstream.

Still, it's good to know you can go have this testing done for free, and anonymously, in virtually every county in the US. Sorry, i don't know about other countries but i think they must have something similar.

Ok, but say you get this card and you go out and sleep with someone who has a "clean" card too and you end up with something.
That other person could have slept with and got something from someone else right after they got their card and you wouldn't be aware of fit cause they have their "clean" card.

Did that make any sense?

nevermind...just read the post above mine... (edit)

No, it made sense...maybe it could even be something that's arranged ahead of time, that's not so unusual. It doesn't have to be 'together' even.

You're still on the honor system...but it means something more that just blind trust.

You all don't want to use a rubber right?
