With the holidays approaching, are you go to fly somewhere? Are you satisfied with the safety precautions the airlines are taking? Are you worried? What airline would you recommend?

I might fly but not to Oregon

Can you give me a list of all the planes you have worked on so I know not to fly on those?

Seriously, I am not worried about airline safety - it is probably safer now than ever before. The only time I was ever worried while flying was when my father got us boxed into a canyon in S. Oregon during a storm and we had to commit to going through this one pass without knowing whether we could actually make it through (the clouds were right down onto the pass and my dad didn't have an IFR then). It was a really stupid risk - we should have turned back - but obviously we made it.

Well, there was also that one time I took a turbo prop commuter into Vermont during a thunder storm - that was a little hairy and bumpy, but then I wasn't in the cockpit so I couldn't see what was going on, and therefore wasn't as worried as when my dad was flying.
