welll it's time to ask the question once again ...

Sunday is Rememberance Day in Canada and Veteran's Day in the U.S. ....

Some businesses and government offices are closed on Monday in Canada to commemorate Rememberance Day .... but alas i am still working ...

although i think the traffic will be a breeze on Monday ... it was actually lighter this morning too cause i guess people were taking friday off as well ...

i'm green with envy ...

I get off almost every day - but alas, I am alone when I do it.

Seriously, the company I used to work for had a holiday policy I really liked; you got 20 days a year (the equivalent of 4 weeks) to take off with pay as you saw fit. What holidays or vacation days you chose were up to you as long as your schedule could accomodate the particular days. So we didn't have to take off any particular holiday.

Typically people get 2 weeks of vacation and 10-12 holidays, but they don't get to choose what the holidays are.

I always choose July 4th, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and XMas as my holidays. With my political leanings and because I am a Veteran, July 4th, Memorial Day and Veterans Day always had significant meaning for me.

Others such as various President's Day, Labor Day, etc. have little or no meaning for me.

Yeah.. I plan on getting off on Monday.. Sexually, that is.. I have a snow cone's chance in hell of getting off from school on Monday.. Colleges don't exactly observe Veteran's Day.. Oh well..
