So - are you an introvert?

If so do you think the 'net had helped you communicate better, relate to people easier, initiate conversations easier, become less introverted?

If not an introvert, what do you think?

I am an introvert, and I think the fact that I practice communication with lots of different people on the 'net (via NGs, BBs, email, etc.) helps me communicate easier and better in person.

Oops I goofed; that last option should say doesn't instead of "does" - could a moderator change that for me? Thanks.

I'm practically a hermit. Quite shy until I get to know someone. (don't listen to what some people might say!)

Yeah, the net helps, but it also makes it easier for me to stay in my "cave", all safe and comfy. The proverbial double edged sword. :)

Yes, an introvert.
Living in the middle of nowhere, I can go for a week or so without even seeing any other person, unless I go into town for supplies. Do I notice the seclusion ? Nope it seems natural. Life/work goes on at my speed. I don't have to work to anyone else's speed/hours, just according to the daylight/weather .
Also given the UK countryside problems of the past eight months, the last thing I want to see is any strangers car rolling up the drive.

So I guess Lit' is one way of finding out what's going on in the outside world. Sometimes it makes me glad not to be part of it.

(Anyway the art of conversation is overrated. :p )

I'm an extrovert, but I do have a shy side...
I think that the net helps people come out of their shell- a least, online. I'm an extrovert, but I've posted and replied to many posts about stuff that I wouldn't normally talk about to people in my personal face-to-facelife. I guess it's the anonymity of the internet...

wow, what an interesting question...

when in comfortable surroundings (at work, with family, etc.) i can be quite extroverted...chatty and fun, sometimes even downright silly

but in a new setting, with folks i don't know, i'm as shy as can be...i tend to hang on the edges, not meet anyone's eyes, smile and nod at most advances...and if i'm drinking it just gets worse

in here though, or in the chat rooms, i loosen up around strangers much more quickly and become the chatty, fun, downright silly person that's hiding deep inside

i think it has to do with proximity and body language...i tend to be gullible in rl and often misinterpret subtle signals...in here it's cleaner...it's down to words, and i've always been comfortable with words

i haven't voted yet...can't decide which one best descibes me

I have a big mouth no matter what .....I the one that never shuts up....at a bar I'm the one that knows everyone by the end of the night........and no ...no one wants to kick my ass either......

I think I tend to keep my mouth shut more on the internet....I like to sit back and listen......Read and learn.

My wife Skitten is very shy and that is one reason she isn't her much.......................

Never would have guessed that Wizard. :p

If I'm not talking, I'm asleep. Wait, I talk in my sleep too, so I guess it should say --- If I'm not talking, I'm probably dead.
