Are you a thread master, or a thinker?

You know, some times when I've looked at all the threads that interest me, I sit back and think I could do better than that. One hour later, I'm still trying to find a good topic with which to start a thread.lol

It isn't very easy coming up with a good subject, at least one that hasn't been done before. But there is a sense of achievement, when you do come up with a thread that people seem to be responding to.

On occasion, these responses are quite entertaining, which is undoubtedly why so many people keep coming back for more. Do you have the same trouble coming up with ideas for threads, or does it come easy for you.

Carl.

Carl, I find it much more easy to respond to a thread, than actually creating one.
Even if it's only to throw some smart ass remark in there.

If you go back and look, you'll see that it's actually very few threads I've started myself.

Good Sir Carl East...

I'm 'gonna start a New thread right now just for the Hell of It...

I don't think I've started more than one or two threads by trying to think of a topic. Most of the time, the topic pops into my head while I'm answering another thread. A question comes up that just seems like it doesn't fit in the current thread and it deserves its own. Or it would be buried too far in the back of a thread that no one would see it if it was posted there.

to Post...

I find it better to post to a thread that I've read. What few threads I've started are more for giving someone a smile, or just something to think about.

Forgetunome are we twins here or what? Could not, would not, have said it any better.

The few threads that I have started are more along the lines of just putting something out there that may cause you to think in a relaxing sort've way.

I also try to avoid flaming anyone in a response,,, though every once in awhile someone is just begging for the flamethrower to be lit off and I'll give a little blast.

My problem is that I'm not as quick with the come backs as everyone else.
Or I think that something sounds funny to me, but I think everyone will think its lame!

Oviously I don't have creative problems...

I have many other problems but that's for a different thread.

And very arguably - some of my threads are very stupid - non-thinking, no thought threads. Yet I don't think I can be accused of not thinking - ever.

I simply find it fun to be stupid sometimes. I believe that everyone should try it too. Stupid therapy - works for me.

Anyway - what is most fascinating about "thread starting" to me is how they bend and twist and change and come back and start over and then go out there again - until they end up in limbo.

Some threads - way deep into them - aren't even about the original subject at all - they've become a vehicle for simple chit-chat.

Fascinating.

I find it very hard to come up with a thread.....
I usually just try to respond to them.

For now anyway
