Social media like faceboobs, twitter, instagram, snap chat ...

Do you use them?

Or boo hiss social media is rubbish and you despise it?

(HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROM MIDDLE EARTH)

:devil::cool::cattail::nana::p:cathappy:

I have accounts on just about everything, but rarely use any, except Twitter, which I use mainly as a news feed. I gave up my Facebook when it became too negative.

i hate them all. i don't even own a cell phone because i think they're intrusive.

I have Facebook, but I dont really go on it that much anymore, its primary use is for friends to PM me.
Or the fuckers will drop some sort of bomb on my page, such as a very UN-PC political meme on a current situation or rather risque photos saying crazy shit.

Ya know the things that will get the Facebook community gathered on your page with Torches looking to burn you at the stake..

Then they laugh from afar... Fuckers...

Naysayer. Definitely naysayer. I dumped my Facebook account over privacy concerns about Facebook's own practices. I do keep a Twitter account, but I never post from it; it's used only to occasionally scan news feeds.

No twitter, no instagram, no snapchat, no pinterest. But I do have a very dusty facebook.

I use Facebook primarily on pages that I am an admin for, and twitter for the latest news. I enjoy Instagram. I like taking photos and seeing what other people are shooting. I haven't looked at my own Snapchat in years. I just recently used Pinterest for the first time in ages with a group for window display ideas.

I find facebooks gives me a rash and the  but I use it for the family over seas contact.

Pinterest I use for book reviews, clip art sharing with other bookworms.

Economic necessity, personally though I don't engage.

Lit is my social outlet.

Amazing how many people in this thread don't do social media. I thought I was an outlier.
Linked In treats me like a member but I don't remember joining. Never contemplated joining any of them.

Aficionado, but I wouldn't say I'm a super user. I'm still discovering new ways to use the apps. I have friends who can work their smartphones like it was a third arm while I'm still just tappin' away. :D

Twitter and Instagram are my main two. I think they're the best at what they're meant to do. I've met people from both. Excellent source for news and connecting with heads you vibe with, good for people who create and have visual-minded interests.

Periscope is really fun to use, but if you do scopes, it'll drain your battery like a vampire on a virgin neck.

We use Slack at the office.

To a much lesser extent, Tumblr and Pinterest. There are countless other social media apps out there, even some utility apps have small social media-like sections you can access and work it like it was Tinder if you're driven enough. ;)

Zero. I have to deal with people all day and listen to nonsense at times. Why would I increase that torment through anti-social media?

I keep FB running in the background and peek in during the day. I have a Twitter but haven't logged on in years. I look at LinkedIn every few months, but have never found it useful.

All that stuff is just for killing time in the office. I don't do any of it from home or on my phone.

All that crap should be outlawed.

Boards like this are as far as i go.

I have a business presence on most of them but aren’t really active.

Personally, I view Facebook but don’t post much, and post pics on instagram.

I get news feeds from networks on my devices so don’t rely on Twitter for that.

^^^^This. Exactly this. I did finally join Facebook and Gmail under aliases. But I almost never post or use them. I give my Gmail address when someone demands an email address and I don't want them to reach me.

Interesting. I pretty much live on Facebook, largely because I've got a fairly far-flung group of friends ... some of them are friends I actually met on Facebook.

I am active on facebook because my friends and family are spread out all over the world and this is an easy way to keep in touch.
Plus I get to see what my kids are up to

I have accounts on twitter, linkdin, pinterest, snapchat, instagram etc but pretty much never use any of them.

I am on a few message boards, mostly health-related, but again I don't go there much. Only when looking for particular info about my issues.

I am not using my real name on any of these sites except facebook, where I use a shortened version and have all my settings set to maximum privacy.

Social networking sites have their place, but most are too fluffy for my liking. Every so often I take a face-break for a week or two..... and then the only way to contact me is by email or phone.
A digi-holiday now and then is a good thing :)

LIT is my social medium now. The past: BBS's from 1980, usenet and elists since 1990, many webforums from 1995, and Facebook for a few months in 2007 when, because of my peculiar location then, FB was the best way to message my family. And an FB ID is handy for accessing certain sites.

But I have better ways to waste my remaining limited time than tweeting, or recording my every word, action, and thought, or circulating vapid images and soundbites, and otherwise being social. All my friends are dead now anyway. And squirrels ignore me.

I use Facebook, LinkedIn, and Slack. I have Snapchat and Instagram accounts created, but have no real need for them.

I like social media. I mostly use Facebook. Got into twitter maybe a year or so ago, even though I had an account since 09 for my old North Korea blog.
