I have lost the sound
Due to an unfortunate circumstance, I had to reinstal all of software on my computer. Everything seemed to be working fine, initially, exept that the sound had gone completely.

Window told me some hardware for sound system is missing. I did hardware detection and found Soundblaster, and reinstalled it.

Now, I can listen to my CDs just fine, but the sound for .meg is still missing. They were fine two days ago.

So, please advice me. What is still wrong with the sound system on my computer? How can I fix it?

Thank you in advance. :)

Look whatever you do don't take my advice as gospel.....I'm shocking with computers..but this happened to me not long ago.

I ended up getting a computer guy and he retrieved the file from the diagnostics and utilities disk that came with the computer.

If anything, my post may bump your thread to the top...where somebody who actually knows what they are doing may be able to answer.

You'll have far better luck posting your problem in a computer-related newsgroup. I suggest checking this page: http://www.barkers.org/windows/newsgroups.html

There are several newsgroups there where you can post your question. Be sure to give as much info as possible up front, i.e. operating system, processor speed, etc. Good luck!

You're missing or have the wrong "CODEC" configured in your media player. Goto control panel/multimedia and try selecting different codecs for MPeG files.

You could try downloading an update to Windows Media Player which should install and configure all of the codec files you need for other media players as well.
