I've told you that I've found the apartment of my dreams, AND I've been lucky enough to actually get it booked for me with the landlord. I went to sign the contract Monday, but the lady I talked to wanted me to actually SEE the place before I signed the papers, so I agreed to postpone the contract signing until I had visited the place. Tonight I did.
I'm going home.
It was such a WONDERFUL apartment! Big, airy, light - everything mine isn't! On the ground floor - only 8 steps up - a balcony with glass windows AND infra-heater for the winter! I'll be able to have breakfast in my jammies on the balcony when it's -30 degrees outside!
Big, light hallway with yellow wall papers, saying "Welcome Home!" the minute you step inside.
Biiiiiig bathroom, and - my dream for many years, finally fulfilled! - a bathtub on legs. Not only do I find bathtubs on legs much more romantic than the regular box-looking ones, but they're also much easier to clean under.
The bedroom was perhaps smaller than mine, but big enough for my bed and a table for my sewing machine - and it had wardrobes!
HUGE kitchen - twice the size of my current one, I'm not kidding! The woman living there now actually had put a curved sofa with 5 seats in it in the kitchen! THAT's how big it was! A REAL kitchen, not a miniature one like mine! You actually had to WALK between the sink and the stove! In my current kitchen, I can make coffee, lay the table, throw away tea bags, and put the dishes in the sink WITHOUT GETTING OFF MY CHAIR!
I'll have room enough for my computer in there... or should I put that in the living room, where the evening sun won't blind me because it's hidden behind the building opposite mine? Yeah, that's it... and I'll have a great view over the garden...
And don't even get me started on the craftsmanship of the kitchen cabinet doors... *droooooool*
I'm home-sexual. I've fallen in love with my apartment-to-be!
