Are songs allowed?

Ok y'all, I posted this question on the poetry board but I think I should post it here too. I wrote a song April 2004 that I would love to share with y'all and get your feedback on. I can't sing but I did record it to post with the text, no music just me howling, lol. I want to know if posting it is an option, I really don't want to waste anyone's time submitting the song if it won't be allowed anyway. Thanks for the help! I love this site, the people here are simply Awesome!

I'm not entirely certain, angelic, but Lit does have an audio section for poetry so I don't see why you couldn't post the lyrics and audio, with a note similar to your above post.

Well if you can find anyone to give a convincing explanation as to why song lyrics aren't poetry then I'd tend towards the idea that Lyrics (in the conventional sense) are poetry. And many times, damn good poetry.

Yui has an excellent point. I've always considered song lyrics poetry and most. I see no reason the audio poetry thread shouldn't accept it. You can always try and see if it gets approved. I'd post a note on the top explaining and submit.

I submitted it this morning. Cross your fingers y'all! I would really like for you to be able to hear it, it's one of the few I have written that I am proud of. I just hope my singing doesn't put anyone off, lol.

God, waiting for something to be accepted has to be similar to being 2 weeks overdue in pregnancy...
