Are private communes legal under the "fair" housing act?

I know the US isn't a free country anymore thanks to liberalism, but if, say I wanted to start a commune and only allow people who shared my beliefs to live there would this be legal?

Is there any way around the "fair" housing act that allows a group of people to form their own self-sustaining community for themselves?

I'd only begin to be slightly interested in hearing more of your commune plans...

...if you edit to add a comma after "say".

Ty.

I know my punctuation sucks. I'm a product of the public schools after all.

It depends on the State, and the county you live in, each have different laws

I'm talking about in America, nitwit.

Then the answer is: If you bought all the property, yes. And don't sell or rent out lots publicly, because then you can't discriminate.

And as Beco pointed out, local flavors might vary.

I can't think of anything more stifling than to live in a culturally (or even politically) homogeneous community. But I guess each to their own.

I think its awesome. With the way things are, It's due to make a comeback.... Its just, the commune lifestyle has vanished, where are these communes? I'm thinking, somewhere in San Diego or San Fran must have a commune to join...

I lived communally when I first moved away from home and that was awesome. The point is that it was the cultural/racial/political diversity that made it great.

The only freedoms that liberalism would have removed that your plan appears to address on the surface is the "freedom" to discriminate against people. Or could you elaborate on Renartopia, and tell us more about what you desire?
