There are "studies" that say the "average" penis size is around 5.25 inches with the most common range is from 5-6 inches. And some studies say being over 7 inches is about 1 out of a 1000 men and that 8 inches and above is about 1 out of a thousand guys with 7 inches or more. Yet, it seems that most peoples personal experiences (here included) there are a very large number of guys well over 7 inches. So, the question is are "giant" manhood's vastly more common than the known statics indicate?

I remember in school. There was this one guy. He was about five foot seven and maybe 150 pounds. Coke bottle glasses and whiter than white should be. Looks like he was in Engineering school which he was. He liked to parade around in the bathroom showers and, believe it or not, his penis stretch down to his kneecaps and was as big around as your forearm. Almost unbelievable size. Okay, like so many studies, the ones that you have referred to often aren’t reliable due to the fact that they simply aren’t large enough.
I can’t recall knowing any African-American persons, other than those unfortunate and exploded brothers down in Tuskegee over 50 years ago, that Have you ever been included in any study that I know of, But Alas, I digress.
Until I started reading stuff about penis lengths on the internet, I just assumed that most guys had penis’ that were 7 or 8 inches when fully erect. And what about girth? I don’t anyone finds a long thin penis’ particularly attractive IMO.
The way I see it, studies like these are probably are not really impartial, as they probably include a specific type of demographic, i.e. middle white American males.

I think if you combine the data from all of the different studies over the years, the average is probably pretty accurate. I've seen a larger studies that attempted to do that.

As far as the community here part of that may be that, by the by, people here tend to be more sexually open and sexually experienced, meaning they are more likely to have been exposed to rarer sizes. There's also the tendency to exaggerate on the internet when things can't be verified.

I honestly didn't realize how my size compared until I lost my virginity. Length wise I'm nothing to write home about, but the girl I lost it to (who was pretty experienced) commented on my girth and being sore the next day. Turns out, statistically, I'm in the 99th percentile for girth. But never would have known if she hadn't said anything.

Speaking of girth, it's interesting that almost every study is about length but girth tends to get forgotten.

Honestly, if there were a source I would trust it would be condom companies. They have a vested interest in knowing their clientele and what to produce the most of.

So, having first hand experience with a lot of penises (literally hundreds) over a fairly large sample size of racial and cultural heritage, and I've seen quite a few larger than 5~6 and quite a few smaller. But remember, average is the mean, not the median. It would be interesting, I think, to know the median penis size in the same population researched in the oft quoted studies.

I think that large penises are not as common as online discussions might lead one to believe but not as rare as what selective statistics might suggest.

If you are looking at statistics for all men worldwide consider that the largest ethnic groups on earth have relatively small proportions. There are studies that indicated average penis length by region and there is as much as a 2" variance between regions (there are a few places in Africa and Slavic Eastern Europe where the average is around 7"). If you look at studies of North American men you will find that less than 5% of men are 7" and something like 1% are 8" or more. By way of comparison the proportion of men who are 7" or more is about the same as those who are 6'2" or taller - not common but not incredibly rare either.

The other thing to consider is that for any given sample set (worldwide or regional) we are talking about averages of all men in that sample set, not just the ones that we tend to notice. An attractive female is likely pulling from the top 10% or 20% of me for sexual prospects and they are the men most likely to have characteristics correlated to larger penis size so the frequency with which those women find more endowed men is greatly enhanced.

Average seems pretty average. Most of the guys I've known have fallen within that. I'm happy with that, I'd rather the guy was skillful than just owned a battering ram.
