Police officer fired after fatally shooting Black teen in Waukegan, Illinois

An Illinois police officer who fatally shot a Black teenager and wounded a Black woman has been fired for "multiple policy and procedure violations," the police chief announced late Friday. Waukegan Police Chief Wayne Walles did not identify the officer or explain what procedures he violated.

The shooting occurred late Tuesday night after an officer was "investigating an occupied vehicle" and the suspects fled the scene, police said. After a second officer spotted and approached the vehicle, the car began moving in reverse towards him, police said, adding that the officer then opened fire with his semi-automatic pistol.

The passenger, 19-year-old Marcellis Stinnette, was hit by the gunfire and later died of his wounds at a local hospital. The driver, later identified as Tafara Williams, Stinnette's girlfriend, was hospitalized with serious injuries. Walles said Friday that she is continuing to receive treatment.

By saying "are cops" really this stupid you imply that "cops" are all one way or the other. That is at the core of pre-judging people. No different than seeing a black person do something foolish and saying; "Are blacks really that stupid."

The fake news media tries to cause social upset by filtering which stories you are allowed to hear. There can be 1000 cops that risked their lives to help people and the media will not touch it. But one stupid cop does something stupid and they will run the story day and night to get you upset with all cops.

Do not make blanket judgements about people in groups based on isolated events and individual actions. Dream of a time when people will be judged by the content of THEIR character and not the color of their uniform.
