I have spent the day inside, alone.
I did send a girlfriend of mine some chocolates and flowers for the day, to make it special for her.
It's otherwise a pretty lonely day for those of us single or separated or divorced or widowed or whatever the case may be. I'm one of those.

She had never gotten any gifts before on valentine's day and also, never gotten flowers before ever in her life, and reported it was more emotionally impactful than she could have imagined.
I had a big smile on my face after that.
People just need to feel appreciated and special and remembered.
Someone sent me some american snacks for christmas, it was the literal only christmas gift I got last year, and it made my whole year.
Someone remembered I existed.
Someone cared enough to want me to be happy.
