One of my favorite poets is Forugh Farrokhzad, an Iranian poet who, sadly, died in a car accident at a very young age (mid-thirties, I believe). She is considered one of the best "Persian female poets," and I think her style is indicative of Arabic (or certainly Persian) women writers. There's another site that has a lot of her poetry and extensive biographical info on her which appears to be down right now. The site I've linked is pretty good though. I check the other one periodically, so if it goes active again I'll post the link.
