Appraising The Clit Pics

These photographs invite a poet's escalation,
a sonnet's prick at the head of the second pix--
(the first a hollow conceit). All remainders fire back
with a blast of attitude (sticks and stones stuff)
not a midge contrite. What better to challenge
my stiff upper and slack lower lip? Such attitudes
need to be admired and loved. Nurse me clit!
Let me have what's good for the flu (and what
builds strong bones in you). I'm conflicted--
I know simple reality no antidote. Saying 'They
make me look away," is adolescent gag. "I love them,"
seems 10 times worse. Why not little notes
of simultaneous revulsion and attraction
(18th century theories of the Sublime). Familiarity
demonstrates how well a critic's to anatomy versed,
not how many hours seminaring Auden or Eliot
in Duluth, UCLA or back east's ivy towers.
It's a concluded fact--by degree (BA, MFA
or PhD)-- given time. a clitoris flowers.
