Name: Lulwa "Lu" Thompson
Age: (Just turned) 18
Location: Pensacola, Florida
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 106 lbs
Measurements: 34D-25-35
Description and History: Lulwa (shortened to "Lu" by her friends) has flawless olive skin indicative of at least part of her ancestry originating on the shores of the Persian Gulf. She has a slightly round but lovely face with soft brown eyes, gentle features and what her friends call Angelina Jolie lips. Her long, straight, near pitch black hair reaches to to the middle of her back. She tends to wear it in a single braid, as she is an avid sailor, and doesn't want it in the way. Though she does have some pronounced curves, Lu is very active and athletic, as her taut limbs and tummy can testify. Lu tends to dress very conservatively.

Her mother married her American father after the first Gulf War but never told Lu if her mother's first husband was Lou's father or not. The point became academic when the man abandoned mother and child when Lou was only five. At age ten, Lu was introduced to Sam, the man who would become Lou's stepfather for the next eight years. At age fourteen, Lou lost her mother to a drunk driver. Sam was there to the rescue, and made sure that Lu had a solid home life. The only thing Sam didn't do was adopt her, but this was primarily do to legal complications. Sam was her guardian of record, and her parent in all but name.

Lu tends to be shy around strangers, but very comfortable around people she knows. She is on her high school's all-girl sailing team, and these are the people she socializes with. Except for Sam, she feels uncomfortable around members of the opposite sex, and hasn't dated yet, even though guys at her high school are very interested in her. She tends to dress conservatively.

=====

Eighteen, Lu thought, smiling at the calendar, hanging on the kitchen wall. Her birthday, which was circled in red, was four days ago. Since it fell on a Tuesday, she hadn't been able to immediately celebrate it, but that had been quickly remedied as soon as the weekend had arrived. Yesterday evening, the girls on her sailing team and their coach, Ms. Reba McClintock. had taken her out on a chartered sailboat until the wee hours of the morning. People at her high school would probably think that her G-rated cruise was probably incredibly lame and boring, but Lu and her teammates had a blast.

It was a little past noon when Lu woke up, but she felt great. Nothing like sailing sober under the stars, she thought smugly.

Lu was wandering the kitchen in a loose fitting (and modest), dark brown football jersey that reached to her knees, grabbing the cornflakes and milk for lunch, and wondering what plans Sam had for her birthday today. She smiled, thinking of Sam, and all the kindness he had always shown her. She couldn't ask for a better person to take care of her.

Name: Samuel "Sam" Brady
Age: 41
Location: Pensacola, FL
Height: 6'
Weight: 190lbs
Description and History: Samuel works as a business consultant in a middle management position. He has brown wavy hair, hazel eyes and keeps in shape by working out several times a week.

When he was just out of high school he married his high school sweetheart. The marraige was short-lived though and it wasn't until he met Lu's mother that he re-married. Though he never had any kids, he treated Lu as if she were his own. He had discussed with her mother the idea of having a child, however, that idea was cut short when she passed away. Sam had talked to Lu in the past about adoption, however, he felt that being her guardian was suitable enough.

Sam tends to be outgoing and enjoys meeting new people, mainly attributed to his career that pays well and has excellent benefits.

------------------------

Sam had woken up today just like any other Saturday. Normally he would be going downstairs seeing Lu while having some breakfast, however, he knew she was out late with her sailing friends. He knew that she was a good girl and that she always listened to the rules and never got into trouble. He was working on finishing up the paper and saw her wander around the kitchen, noting what she was having for lunch.

"So, breakfast for lunch?" he asked with a slight grin on his face. "I'm sure you had a good time last night. I was beyond out cold when you got home," he told her as he watched her make her way to the table. Sam started to adjust his blue polo that he was wearing as Lu sat down.

"I made reservations for us at your favorite seafood place," he told her. "Other than that, I don't have anything really planned for your birthday today. I figured you should spend it however you want to. So, if there's somewhere you want to go or something you want to do just let me know and I'll go with you," he said as he looked at her. He was very proud of how well she had grown up over the last eight years.

"Anywhere you want to go is fine with me, Sam," Lu grinned as she walked over to where he was sitting, gave him a peck on the top of his head, then sat down and poured herself a bowl of cereal and milk. She took a couple of bites, then paused, remembering something. "Actually, if we have time, I need to go over to the sailing shop. My gloves are getting a little worn, and I need to get a new pair. If you want to get them for me, that is?" she said with puppy dog eyes, then broke into a giggle at the way she was hamming it up for her guardian. Usually Lu was the quiet one in the room, unless she was with someone she was comfortable with, like Sam.

Sam looked up at her as she gave him a kiss on the top of his head. He listened to her come up with the idea of her getting new sailing gloves. He was glad that she loved sailing since the gloves weren't exactly cheap. He looked at her as she gave him the puppy dog eyes. He had tried to not get sucked into them, however, it was very hard to.

"Sure," he said as he made her wait a few moments with her face that way. "Consider it part of your birthday gift," Sam told her as she ate. "Just let me know when you want to leave to get them," he said as he watched her eat some more.

"Let me get cleaned up first. I'm sure you don't want to be seen with the barefoot Bohemian," Lu laughed, lifting her feet up and wiggling her toes. "And hey, we can run by the bookstore, grab some coffees, and just read magazines quietly side by side, just like some old couple," she laughed as she put her bowl in the sink. "It's casual tonight, right?" Lu asked over her shoulder as she headed upstairs.

"Whatever you want to do, dear," he said as Lu ran through a list of ideas. "This is just the two of us celebrating your day how you want it." Sam looked at her feet as she wiggled her toes.

"If you want to go to the restraunt dressed casually that's fine. If you want to get dressed up we can find you a new dress or outfit while we're out," Sam suggested. He had grown up with a lot of sisters and with being married twice he didn't mind shopping with women. Even if it meant clothes shopping.

Sam finished reading the paper, figuring that she wasn't going to be wasting any time getting changed. As he did he checked to make sure he had his keys, phone and everything else that he would need for tonight.

About an hour later, Lu came downstairs, wearing low open toe heels, a pair of black dress jeans with a silver and turquoise belt and a bright blue, long sleeved button up blouse. Her hair was tied in a loose ponytail. Lu wore just a touch of makeup and a pair of silver stud earrings, shaped like tiny anchors. Only the very top button of Lu's blouse was undone.

"If you want to go shopping for a dress for me, we can," Lu said, as she came traipsing down the stairs, "But the only person I ever wear dresses for is you. Not that you're not worth it," she laughed, giving Sam a hug around the neck before sitting down across the table from him. "But the last time I wore a dress was at our sailing team's awards banquet last year. I'm sure no one will notice it's the same dress again this year!"

Sam looked at his stepdaughter as she came back into the kitchen from getting changed. There was no doubt that she liked to look good while going out. Even if her definition of getting dressed as casual was what she was wearing, there was certainly no complaints. "It's up to you, Lu," he said, "today is about you. If you want a new dress, no problem, if not, that's just as fine."

Sam couldn't really complain about the definition Lu had of casual since he was wearing some nice dress shoes, some nice khaki pants and a blue polo shirt on one of his days that he usually relaxed. He did want her to be more exposed to the rest of the world since she would more than likely be at college next year. While he figured not to push the issue, he would probably bring it up again with the dresses if the oppertunity presented itself to him. "I'm ready when you are," he said as he got up and stretched out just a bit.

"Well, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to look at a new dress," Lu conceded. "And we do have plenty of time. I mean, I already know what gloves I need, so that's going to take fifteen minutes, tops.

"Ok, lead on McDuff, and let the dress sales clerk be the first to cry, halt! Enough!" Lu said as she headed out the door.

Sam let out a chuckle as he watched Lu run out the door. After he got out he opened the door to the car for her and climbed in his side. "I'm glad you still have a lot of energy since you were out so late," Sam commented.

The first stop was for her new gloves that Lu wanted. As predicted, there was no problem with getting the gloves that she wanted. "Where to next, dear?" Sam inquired as they went back to the car. He waited patiently as she decided what she wanted to do next.

Looking at the clock on the dashboard, she sighed dramatically. "I guess we have time enough for the dress." She looked over at Sam and grinned. "Sorry, dresses just don't really have much to do with my day-to-day living."

Sam let out a loud laugh as she let out a sigh. "I know they aren't your forte right now," he told her, "but you should get use to wearing them. I was thinking of having you go to a few social functions with me for work his year."

Sam took his time getting to the store so that Lu wouldn't be subjegated to spending so much time in there. As they got out he held the door for her while she walked in to the store.

"Maybe if you ask, and I'm not busy, I'll go with you to one of those functions. Maybe," Lu said with a laugh as they went into the store. She gave Sam a quick kiss on the cheek before she started looking around. She immediately made a beeline to a silver gray dress on one of the discount racks. It was very conservative, with a high collar and a hem that would fall a couple of inches below her knees. The dress had a red trim to it, and it made one think of the old fashioned sailor suits young boys were sometimes dressed in, back in the middle of the last century.

As Lu talked to the sales clerk about it, her eyes were inadvertently drawn to a dress on display in the store's front window. It was teal blue, and it looked like the type of stylized sarong that a movie starlet might have worn to a movie premier in the 1930s. It wasn't an immodest dress, particularly by the standards of today, but it did speak of glamour. The dress looked to be form fitting without being form clinging. The arms and shoulder were bare, as was the wearer's back (almost down to the small of the back), though the cleavage was shielded by straps that gently wrapped around the wearer's neck.

Lu put the dress out of her thoughts, focusing on the silver gray one she was buying for this year's awards banquet for the women's sailing team.

Sam made his way, following his step-daughter top the dress. She was admiring it as he got there. "Do you like it, Lu?" he asked as he looked at the dress as well.

Sam did notice Lu lookingat the display dress as well. He figured he would take his time trying to get her to try something like that on. He knew her taste and hopefully he would get her to be more outgoing.

"Hmmm? Oh yeah, this will be perfect for my needs," Lu answered, holding the silver gray dress up to her front. "Looks like it's going to be an almost perfect fit, too, right off the rack. The dry cleaning store down the street does alterations, I'll let them take care of anything I need," she decided.

"Why don't you try it on?" Sam inquired as he watched Lu look and feel it. "That way you can let the people at the dry cleaners know what they need to do?" he suggested.

Sam went to sit down on the waiting chair as he watched Lu think about it. There was no doubt that she was looking more refined and getting more attention from other guys. "We have time before dinner," he pointed out. "We can always look at other dresses as well."

Lu smiled at Sam and gave him a nod. "You're paying the bills." She disappeared into the dressing room in back and came out a few minutes later. "Well, what do you think?" she asked, stepping out into the main part of the store. "Off the rack, and fits pretty good," Lu added, swirling around. The conservative dress did fit very well indeed. "Looks like it won't need any alterations at all." The sale clerk walked around Lu, tugged on the dress gently from a couple of different angles, and agreed.

"Let me get changed back, we can pack this dress up and be off to dinner," Lu said, after giving herself the once over in a full length mirror.

"Or you could just wear that to dinner if you want," Sam suggested. "It really does look great on you. I'm pretty sure you would also get some attention," he said as he watched her give herself a better look.

"And yes, I am paying for it," he said to make sure she knew that it would be her present. He signaled the clerk over and had her get the display dress for her to try on. "This lady said you were looking like you might be interested in this one also," he said. "So why not try it out, just for fun if not anything fun."

"To be honest," Lu replied to the proposition of her wearing the silver-grey dress out of the shop, "I'd be happier in my jeans. This is strictly a special occasion dress," she added, spinning around once again in it.

When the sales clerk brought the blue dress, Lu just shook her head. "I don't know...that sort of dress...I don't think it's me."

"Nonsense," the sales clerk answered. The woman sensed another potential sale and decided to push. "You have the perfect figure and coloration for this dress. It was made for you." The saleswoman looked at Lu with a professional eye. "You'll need a different set of undergarments for this dress, though. Of course, you're young enough and in good enough shape that you could dispense with wearing a brassiere."

Lu blushed and exclaimed, "Hello! Male company present!" In truth, Lu would have been mortified if any other man besides Sam had heard the saleswoman's proclamation concerning the firmness of Lu's bust, but still, it wasn't a conversation Lu wanted to have in front of her stepfather.

"Not to worry," the saleswoman chuckled. "The store has a small lingerie section to accommodate our customers in these situations. Besides, the advantage of wearing something for support is the fact that certain physiological changes due to cooler environments don't become immediately apparent."

Still blushing, Lu looked at the dress and shook her head. "I don't know..."

Sam let out a small laugh as Lu began to talk about a guy being present. "Dear," he said, "I'm not going to be offended. I was married for a long time so I won't be offended."

He listened to the worker finish talking to her about it. He knew the girl wouldn't push too hard in case the sale falls through. "I say you give it a try. You never know," he said, "you may end up liking it. And isn't today about spoiling yourself a bit?" Sam inquired.

All things considered, Lu decided it could have been more embarrassing. She was just glad it wasn't.

The saleswoman took her back to the lingerie department, where they found a backless bra and a skimpier pair of panties whose lines wouldn't show up underneath the dress. They immediately went into the dressing room, where the saleswoman had to demonstrate how the adhesive on the strapless bra worked, and then demurely commented on how Lu might want to trim herself a little more "down there" if she was going to wear more revealing underwear.

The saleswoman wanted to help Lu put her hair up, but Lu resisted, compromising in letting her hair hang loose, draped artfully around her torso. Then the clerk led Lu to a full sized mirror. Lu had to admit that she didn't look half bad. There was no cleavage to the dress, though she clearly filled out the top. The dress wasn't overly tight, but it was form fitting, and let the casual observer see that Lu had a pleasant form indeed.

Finally, Lu came out trailing the saleswoman. "Well?" she asked Sam expectantly.

Sam pulled out his phone and started to check his messages as he waited for Lu. He was trying to not work too much on work on the weekend, however, it seemed better than wandering around a female clothing store.

A few moments later he lifted his head up as he saw his step-daughter come out with the dress on. "Wow," he said as he saw her. "You look amazing, Lu," he pointed out. He watched as she went over to the mirrors to check herself out. "So, what do you think?" Sam inquired as he looked her over.

Luci looked over her shoulder at her back. "That is a lot skin on display," she remarked, though she had seen 'worse.' The dress left her lower back covered. She had seen dresses in magazines where the top of the girl's ass could be seen.

"It still looks pretty conservative for you," Sam pointed out as she mentioned the amount of skin. "Is it something you would like to wear?" Sam asked. "Feel free to be honest. We're all adults here," he reminded her.

He looked over at the worker who had been helping Lu, "what do you think?" Sam asked her. He looked back over at his step-daughter as he waited for an answer.

"I think it would be a sin for you not to have that dress, " the saleswoman said, as Lu spun around in place.

"I suppose there's some place I might be able to wear it," Lu conceded. "You're picking up the check, Sam, what do you think?"

As Lu was asking the question of her stepfather, the saleswoman held up a finger as if remembering something, and disappeared behind the counter where the register was.
