I would like to take this moment to recognize the innocence tragically removed from countless children and the lives of 2 victims, by a senseless act of misled vindication.
My 'backyard' just got barbequed by some brain rot 15 yr old kid, who thought he could get a little respect, or show daddy he was tough after all... by haphazardly gunning down his fellow classmates.
Were you the bully in high school? Take a moment to forgive those of lesser apparent skills, and lend someone a hand instead.
Do YOU have children? When's the last time you had a genuine discussion with them about where they're going; how they like it so far; what it is that interests them that you could encourage; or the simple fact you're just glad they're alive and you've been honored so highly as to give birth to them; that you love them irrevocably. Unconditionally.
And prove it.
Are you the brunt of jokes? Pissed; jaded; bitter and volatile? Entering dementia? Want to rage against the machine? Many of us have been there. The difference is: When you act in selfish chaotic revelry - you ARE the machine. You're everything that's wrong with it. And you lose.
Don't stoop down to the level of your anger at betrayal. Rise above it. There are plenty of coffins ready for you - step out of it. That's called 'value'. Become 'value'. There's no respect in being a fucking bozo like Homer the Rifleman. I spit on him in disgust. Get a grip.
Don't fit into any of the above generalizations? Then do me a favor, take a moment to think about what you CAN do to erase some negativity from the world. How you may be able to offer the world a little grace.. in some small way, if only for today. It's no longer a time of 'blame'. DO!
Cuz something needs to be done, lest another cowardly Lion thinks it's a swell idea to pull out a revolver and waste some more lives that never lived. I can't think of anything more disturbing than what seems to be taking place in our schools on a yearly basis now. Complete apathy. Nothing is more disturbing.
And the responsibility DOES lie with YOU. And all of us. Take some, eh.
