how do you change the site that your homebase goes to?

Oh God... I have been trying to figure that out for months now... for some reason my homebase is a site for *anorexic* teen pornography... and I'm just not into anorexic naked people... Good luck in fixing it though because I obviously don't know... just wanted to share my trauma, lol.

Tools. Internet Options. Where it says "Home Page," either type in the one you want or do what I do; click "Use Blank." That way you don't have to wait for the page to load when you open IExplorer.

Click on "Tools" on the IE Browser (top row), that drops a menu down. Click on "Internet Options". It should open on the "General Tab" (if not, click on "General" tab). The top item is your home page. There are three choices, "Use Current (the page you are currently on), "Default" (if using IE, then that would probably be MSN) and "Blank". I use current page, if I'm at the site I want my computer to open on, or you can type in the URL (http://www.name.com for example). Hope this helps.

She finally resolved the homepage issue, but still has a problem with the Internet Options control panel being corrupted and not allowing a simple change to the homepage -- she has to go into the registry and change it there now.

Some of the trojans that set your homepage without your permissinon are persistant and malicious little buggers. If you're going tobrowse porn sites, a pop-up stopper and setting your IE security setting to HIGH for the Internet Zone is a must!
