Hi all
I've got a couple of quick questions about the editing process. And I'm also looking for an editor to work with me on an incest-themed story.
OK, questions first. I've been looking for an editor since the start of the month. I've selected an editor from the list of volunteer editors, clicked on the Contact button and sent them a brief message describing the story, giving them my email address and asking them to contact me. The FAQ says you should expect a response within 72 hours, so if I didn't get a response in 3 or 4 days, I went to the next editor on my list and contacted them. I've been through 4 or 5 now, and none of them have responded.
Is this common? Are there a lot of editors who no longer edit, or take a long time to respond? Or have I just been unlucky in my selection of editors?
I know nobody on Literotica is being paid for their efforts, and we all have stuff to do in the real world as well, but it can't be too much to ask for a timely email saying "yes", "no", or "I'm busy, try again in a week", can it? It's very frustrating!
So, are there any editors on here who'd like to edit my story with me?
I'm looking for a female editor who's willing to accept stories in the Incest/Taboo category. The reason for wanting a female editor is because I'm male and I've written a story from a female viewpoint.
The story is called "The Birthday Favour" and is about 8,000 words long. Brief synopsis is that Angie (18 year old schoolgirl) gives her brother Jack (20 year old university student) a token for his birthday, redeemable for "a favour". He jokes about it being sexual favour and they laugh it off... but neither of them can stop thinking about it. Later on, he gets a birthday present he never expected.
I'd like someone to proofread it and give it a reality check. Also, this is my first piece of written erotica, so I'd be willing to accept any hints or tips for making it better.
