Anyone use facebook?

I haven't been very active on facebook until recently. After watching the events in Egypt, I decided I didn't want to be late for the revolution when it's called. :)

I tend to have a similar view to DVS. I use facebook, reluctantly, to keep in touch with family mostly and a few friends. But I rarely say much about what's going on in my life because I worry about what can be gleaned from facebook posts. I want some things protected like my privacy; yet I'm willing to share other things about myself on lit. Hmmmm. Time to excuse myself to go psychoanalyze why there's a difference.

My guess would be because your facebook friends are your real world friends, whereas the people of Lit are nameless, faceless words on a screen?

I"m on facebook... friends, family, etc. The only game I play is scrabble... and I'm usually playing 20 or more games at once.

I second that.
My 'friends' on facebook are people I actually know personally and customers of my business.
Though lots of my customers are into kinks like mine at least as much could feel offended by the fact I write erotic fiction. Especially the kinky sort.
I don’t actually lie on facebook. But I keep silent about lots of things. ;)

There are quite a few kinksters in Atlanta...and it is a very active community. Quite a few of them cross over into friendship and are on my facebook page. Those that are, are well behaved in that area.

I've been on Facebook for a good 3+ years now. Used to be totally addicted to one of the pet games on there, spent waaaaay too much time on it, but thankfully I got over that when they killed the game by changing it way too much.

I'm "friends" on Facebook with much of my family (who I hardly ever see), and a lot of my old friends from school and childhood. I've actually found it's a really easy, non-confrontational way of sussing out who cares about what... I posted a link about gay rights, and my super-conservative school friend liked it and commented on it. I posted a "flair" related to bdsm, and my cousin commented positively on it.

My first blog was Xanga, back in 2003, that was the golden age of blogs. Sighs with nostalgia

I actually saw facebook before myspace. It looked neat and clean, but I already has a nice xanga so I thought "naw".

After the great xanga crash of twenty-O-5, social networks just weren't appealing. Especially since I have yet to see one that looks better than xanga.

Its really awkward when someone in your circle dies, their profile always remains like it was. Ghost comes to mind. I think maybe that was what ended it all.

Oh dear god, golden age of blogs was Xanga in 2003? I am Oh El Dee OLD.

Yeah, I'm on there. Was very against it at first. But then found it was a great way to get back in contact with all the people I'd "lost". Heck, just added me another one recently. Neither one of us knew the other had gotten married since we last talked years ago! LOL

I also play a few of the games. Which ones depend on my current mood and patience level though.
