Just looking around to see if any one else on Guam has joined and wants someone to talk to. I am just looking for friendship and some frank open discussion about sexuality etc. - it can get really lonely really quick out here in the pacific -

Sorry I can't help you... I'm far far away... I've never been to Guam... I only know that it's one of the Northern Mariana islands and that it houses many military bases, sparsely populated with very few people knowing where it is?

So what it Guam like anyway?

Look forward to getting to know you...

Guam

What is Guam like......well, it is warm - we average about 82 daily with a nice breeze. We have typhoons - none this year but two last year. We lose water and power every now and then and our phone system is very antiquated - it is hard to call the states on weekends and holidays. our Population is about 165K and remains pretty consistent. Lots of Japanese tourists. Everyone likes to barbecue and fiesta, families are close, and the culture is recent. Pre-history is greater that 500 years ago because they had no oral or writtn tradition. Very Catholic - from the Spainish influence. We are about 8800 miles from the east coast. Let me know if there is something else you want to know, but that is us, in general.

Sounds all right... I'm not sure if I'd want to live in such an isolated place year round, but it probably beats New Jersey.

I've never seen the Pacific, you know... Lots of the northeast, lots of Europe, and the Atlantic, but never the Pacific. I bet that's halfway worth living there...

I've been to Europe and all over the states - this is the third time I have lived in the Pacific - first was the PI, then Hawaii, now here. I've gotta say, yes, we are isolated, but the snorkeling and diving make up for the things we do without. My sister came to visit and described the snorkeling to swimming in a tropical fish tank. The water is very clear here - you can see down at least 60 feet on clear days. If you like water sports (the World Jet Ski Champion 2002 lives here) and fishing this is the place to be. Some places have better diving (like Palau) but they are only a hop from here. All in all, it could be worse. My thing is one day it is paradise and the next day hell - it just depends on what you are doing and who you are with. In general it isn't bad but I am ready to get moving and get back to the states (soon).
