Anyone looking for a co-author?

Hi everyone...

I clearly don't post much in this forum, but I'm wondering if anyone is looking for a co-author or writing partner? As I noted in the NaNoWriMo thread, I have a very bad habit of starting something and never finishing it; to paraphrase one of my favorite bands, I have "reams and reams of half-finished novels lying all over the place." My recent attempts to write erotic stories for Lit have ended the same way - I finish approx. 3/4 of the story, become frustrated, and trash it.

I'm not really sure exactly what I'm looking for. Perhaps someone to help keep me motivated, someone to bounce ideas off of, someone to help formulate ideas - and obviously it would go both ways. We could even collaborate on some stories (and I don't care if we publish them under your name, if that's what you want). Anyone interested? I realize this reads like a personal ad, so I'll hang up now. Thanks in advance.

I sometimes have this problem too--I have ideas for several stories, and I have one "Novella" I started that I never finished. I find there are several ways to deal with this problem. One technique I use is first to understand how my story is going to end. This comes before I even decide how it will begin. Start with the end. Once you have the beginning and end, then brainstorm ideas for things you want to have in the middle, and then write it all in that order. Once you have some material written, then start figuring out how to make it into a plot. Write just a little bit at a time. Also, lower your ambitions--write shorter stories first. Maybe later you can string some of them together to form a larger story with just a little modification. Hope this helps.

Thanks for this. I think this is a problem in particular with my potential Lit stories; I never know how they're going to end. That leads to me writing something that I'm unhappy with.

For my handful of novel-ish ideas, I do have a solid idea of a full plot from start to finish, but I'm struggling to fill in the cracks. The backbone is there but the actual meat of the story feels a little too contrived - I'd expect it to flow more naturally, I guess.

My problem is that I know how they are going to end, and usually it is with the protagonists getting it on. I find that after writing this wonderful set up, writing the actual sex gets old and repetitive. I have started stories that get them to the apartment/bedroom/whatever and just don't bother finishing.
