Rabboussamai fikarrajaii
Fi ainaiha aralhayati
Ati ilaika min haza ikaaouni
Arjouka labbi labbi nidai

Yesterday, I knew a sky without sun
And a man without soil
A saint in prison
And a sad song without pain..

The rest someone else can do...

I think he wanted an accurate translation, not the warped translation offered by a machine.

Here goes... to the best of my abilities:

Ayer conocí un cielo sin sol
I once knew a sky without sun

Y un hombre sin suelo
And a man without foundation
(I think a man without soul would be the real translation)

Un santo en prisión
A saint in jail

Y una canción triste sin dueño
And a sad song without lead
(A song without direction?)

Y conocí tus ojos negros
And I saw (for the first time)... your dark eyes

Y ahora sí que no
And now, I cannot

Puedo vivir sin ellos yo
Live without them

Le pido al cielo sólo un deseo
I ask the heavens only one thing

Que en tus ojos yo pueda vivir
To be able to live in your eyes

He recorrido ya el mundo entero
I have travelled the entire world

Y una cosa te vengo a decir
And I need to tell you one thing

Viaje de bahrein hasta beirut
All the way from Bahrain to Beirut

I went all the way north until the South pole

Y no encontré ojos así
I never came across eyes like these

Como los que tienes tú
Like the ones you have

Rabboussamai fikarrajaii
Fi ainaiha aralhayati
Ati ilaika min haza ikaaouni
Arjouka labbi labbi nidai

(This is Arabic. Can't help you there)

Ayer vi pasar una mujer
Yesterday, I saw a woman go by

Debajo de su camello
Underneath her camel
(I think it means walking next to her camel)

Un río de sal un barco
A sea of salt, a boat

Abandonado en el desierto
Abandoned in the desert

Phew. ;)

Ayer conocí un cielo sin sol
Yesterday I met a sky with no sun
Y un hombre sin suelo
a man with no soul
Un santo en prisión
a saint in prison
Y una canción triste sin dueño
and a sad song with out any dreams
Ya he ya he ya la he
(sounds)
Y conocí tus ojos negros
and I met your black eyes
Ya he ya he ya la he
(sounds)
Y ahora sí que no
and now I
Puedo vivir sin ellos yo
can't live with out them
**note "no puedo"= I can't, but since "no" & "puedo" are separate literally it would be "cannot be" which isn't what she's trying to convey.
Le pido al cielo sólo un deseo
I ask the sky for only one wish
Que en tus ojos yo pueda vivir
that in your eyes I can live
He recorrido ya el mundo entero
I've searched the whole earth
Y una cosa te vengo a decir
and I've come to tell you only one thing
Viaje de bahrein hasta beirut
I've traveled from Bahrein to Beirut
I've gone from the north to the south pole
Y no encontré ojos así
and I haven't found eyes like
Como los que tienes tú
the ones you poses
Rabboussamai fikarrajaii
Fi ainaiha aralhayati
Ati ilaika min haza ikaaouni
Arjouka labbi labbi nidai
(no clue what she's saying here. I'm assuming it's in lebanese.)

nope beneath. she's trying to explain that she's seen many things in her travels but still nothing compares to the look in her love’s eyes.

Doesn't matter... You did a good job too and in translation, you can always have different interpretations... ;)
true.

which is why I love that song. I love all her stuff, but it translates so poorly to English that she's not as well received in the US.

I tried first when i was here to translate direct (grammaraiticly) heh sp?
in to English and it was only awkward, it was only after i gained more skill that i could here express myself, and more properly what i was thinking
