Several of his books have gay oriented poetry, one, an incredibly bittersweet poem of his partner's death with aids.

Try the poet James Thomas Stevens. He's a contemporary poet (also happens to be Mohawk and gay), and has a very nice collection of poems that have been compiled into one work, entitled "Combing the Snakes from His Hair". Some of the poems in this work are erotic, but the majority are not.
