I was really into R/C cars. I spent a lot of cash and had a lot of fun messing around racing them on a dirt and carpet track.
I ran in the battery op. class and build the car up and tweaked this and that.

I after a few years got out of it buy hung on to everything I had. At the time my son wasn't born and then he was very young, I wanted to keep them for him to run when he was old enough to handle them. I mean they run about 25 or 30 miles per hour and really are not toys.

This brings us to now. A new hobby shop opened here in town, we went down to check it out. My son now 12 is ready to start racing. We go on to find out they have a carpet track for the battery powered cars and are building a dirt track for gas powered ones.
I have always wanted to get into gas powered but never did. We go on to find out that both tracks will be open at the same time.
Me loving this kind of thing I think this is a win, win deal.

I bought a gas truck last week ..............It can run 55 to 65 miles per hour. And I have just stared to tweak it. I plans are to kill several birds with one stone. I will take my son down during the week to practice he will be on one track and I can run on the other. I will be right handy to help fix anything that breaks as well as him learning how to do on his own.
He can also hang with his friends there that all run cars too. We also plan to race on the week ends, this will give us 2 days together for Father, Son time.
I look forward to that part and I now find myself back playing with R/C cars and loving it for a break from the world.

So am I the only loser into these things?????? I mean I am an old gear head and love building these thing up......I dude I know just tore his down to polish the head on it.........That’s bad...lol

Best part will be teaching my son about cars, they have a lot of parts real cars have.
:) :) :)

Oh god I hope my SO doesn't see this thread.....if anything could make him start posting it would be a thread on remote controlled cars/trucks......

Much to my distain he has also spent a fortune on thse cars.

Die thread Die!!!

Bindii, LOL ........I know what you can spend .....I had it real bad before thats why I hung on to everuthing.

Oh gawd, my hubby is into them. Before we were married, he actually raced them and won trophies, I think.
He has a few in the storage room, I think.

You want his email? :D

It is good that your exposing your son to toys that are 3 dimensional, I tried to get my boys into that kind of stuff and they just arent interested. Kind of sad as I like mechanical things. Last summer I attended a car show where they had an area set up for gas powered remote controlled cars, they are fast! and the people are really great.

Boy and I thought I was the only odd ball............Maybe not now..:D

I have a "toy one" a 7.2 volt red 68 Mustang Fastback. about 18 inches long, so it's fairly big. I bought it probably 10 years or more ago, because of my love of Mustangs. It probably still works, and it was fast. But I'd like to have a remote control helicopter.

Helicopters , Kick major ass........I did the shit out of them but instead of a 2 channel car radio , now if I'm right I think helicopters are 6 channels.............

You have to to be on your toes with them.........I did find a "Starter Plane" for about 100 bucks and you can put it back togethere buy not a chopper..........

But Waaay cool dude I can watch them fly for hours.........Those dudes ARE good..........

I live near the A.M.A. model airplane

world headquarters in Indiana. You should see some of the detail in the models of all types when they have their contests. Some are mind boggling with the added details.

 :D

I'm guessing the children's toys called Rokenbok aren't what you're talking about?

They are great remote controlled truck sets though. Gave them to my nephew for Christmas and have more for his birthday. His older sisters love to play with him with the trucks. It is about the ONLY thing I see where they all play together well!
