I was really into R/C cars. I spent a lot of cash and had a lot of fun messing around racing them on a dirt and carpet track.
I ran in the battery op. class and build the car up and tweaked this and that.
I after a few years got out of it buy hung on to everything I had. At the time my son wasn't born and then he was very young, I wanted to keep them for him to run when he was old enough to handle them. I mean they run about 25 or 30 miles per hour and really are not toys.
This brings us to now. A new hobby shop opened here in town, we went down to check it out. My son now 12 is ready to start racing. We go on to find out they have a carpet track for the battery powered cars and are building a dirt track for gas powered ones.
I have always wanted to get into gas powered but never did. We go on to find out that both tracks will be open at the same time.
Me loving this kind of thing I think this is a win, win deal.
I bought a gas truck last week ..............It can run 55 to 65 miles per hour. And I have just stared to tweak it. I plans are to kill several birds with one stone. I will take my son down during the week to practice he will be on one track and I can run on the other. I will be right handy to help fix anything that breaks as well as him learning how to do on his own.
He can also hang with his friends there that all run cars too. We also plan to race on the week ends, this will give us 2 days together for Father, Son time.
I look forward to that part and I now find myself back playing with R/C cars and loving it for a break from the world.
So am I the only loser into these things?????? I mean I am an old gear head and love building these thing up......I dude I know just tore his down to polish the head on it.........That’s bad...lol
Best part will be teaching my son about cars, they have a lot of parts real cars have.
