Okay...so the board has gotten slow, very slow, because of this reason or that one. It happens. So if anyone is interested in being a part of a new thread, sign your name here...
No sense throwing out a Casting Call if no one's even interested in posting at all...

definatly, seems like all the other threads i'm in are going the way of the buffalo

I am very much available if the right story came along and as you can see I got 2 years of experience lighting up the Lit Board

It's not quite August yet Phoenix.
To tell you the truth, I've been trying to join something. But I don't know, it just seems like I can't put the "gary" spin on any of them, can't see myself with a character in there. I'm not dissing on any thread, it's not that they are not good, they are, it's just I know I won't do well in them.
You want to do something, count me in.

Okay...

So we've got (as potentials, that is):

Quiet_Cool
Pm Tick
SpectralDragoon
bobo_daclown
Pheonix
Poohlive

Wow! I didn't think that many people even looked at this board today...It's getting worse every day...

Six definitely isn't bad for a starting number...now, do we have any ideas as to what the theme might be...let's start with a genre...I've got a few ideas for say...sci-fi or fantasy, depending on how you look at it. And maybe more real-life kind of stuff. Anyone else have ideas? I figure, the more we compromise, the more likely it will work (the original idea behind Calamus, though that one wound up going in a totally different direction).

I'd be interested in getting invovled in a thread. I just posted one of my own. It's the first one that I've tried to start on my own, so if it doesn't sound too great to you, no worries. If you guys come up with a story I'd be glad to join in.

I am game to join in. Already in 1 thread & a possible 2nd one but who knows? *shrugs* I just got here a few days ago. :D

I always did lost post apocalyptic stories. Something has taken out most of the world, and only a few are left.
Oh, you know what would be cool? What about something like Escape from L.A. or something, society is perfect, except for this one spot, and a group of agents has to go in and "clean it up."
Or, lol, stop terrorists who have just found a stockhold of nuclear weapons at this place.
Just tossing things up in the air.

Two more...cool

Okay, that's eight possibles...let's go for ideas...
I like the post-apocolypse ideas too, pooh, and sci-fi, since horror has been a little dry lately and sword and sorcery style fantasy has ruled the board for far too long.
I've got this off-beat idea...it'd start with people being sent into space, in an attempt to colonize other planets (Earth 2, style) as the sun slowly begins to grow hotter, evaporating the water from the Earth's surface. As time goes by, the planet will be uninhabitable, lacking the moisture to support life. Living beneath the surface, away from the suns harmful effects and where the water is more abundant, mankind has evolved into pale, often hairless beings (save headhair and often without that either), long and lanky or short and fat with no in-betweens. The vessel that is sent out will be where our characters will end up, headed toward the Orion Nebula, which is only in the beginnings of its life. There, the members of the crew are to colonize and send word of progress back to Earth...
Any thoughts on this? Might be too much detail here, but I figured, another Nebula, new planets and everything, we can make anything happen...

I'm In

I'm in a storyline right now, but could go for joining another if you all will have me. With me and the others who have joined, that would put it at about ten players. :)

I still have Know Your Enemy and By the Sword up. They both kind of incorporate sci-fi elements in it. Know Your Enemy is post-apocolyptic, a world with electricity and By the Sword involves a group of human reconnecting to their past lives to fight a threat from the past. If anyone is interested, well you know what to do.

I'm thinking of starting up Shadow Government again soon, but with a bit of tweaking, making the vampires more like Anne Rice vampires.

I'm always up for a good thread, just haven't been looking in on this board everyday anymore 'cause it's been so slow - but I'm still on lit every day! :D

well

i'll jump in though i wont be able to have a major role,i have my forgotten worlds thread and am barely able to keep up with ff but so many wonderful writers i cant pass this up i'm deffinatley in:rose:

Me too. I'll give it a blast. I'm only in Calamus at the moment, and it's slowed down enough to takle another..

I like the Nebula idea.

I've always wondered if it was possible to make two threads run parallel.. say in the instance of Quiet_Cool's idea have one thread being the earth thread, the other the star thread, with people posting different characters on both. eg. I could be a 7 foot stick thin woman on earth and also playing a 3 foot, fat geologist, xenophobic star traveller. Each having their own "adventures" but working towards a goal, and with references to the other thread ie. stick woman receives message "beamed" back from geologist that great uncle sam, also on the expedition has carked it in a battle with the spitting slugs and that all his estate is to go to stick woman.. or vice versa.

I don't know.. its just a thought. Too confusing?

I just started another thread I'm happy with. It's called Rouges Gallery it's about a group of villians who seek to carry out various evil tasks. They communicate with each other through the internet. Villians can either be comical, like mine, or more serious. So far i'm the only one posting but it's funny as hell.

Hey, i've never been apart of a role playing thread, but i'd love to give it a shot!

Quiet_Cool
Pm Tick
SpectralDragoon
bobo_daclown
Pheonix
Poohlive
SuppleKisses
Crysede
Silverwolf
Firesprite
Eagle70
Doffy

Twelve...that's a solid list.

So what do we say about the idea...
We've got two looking at the Nebula idea, myself and Firesprite...anyone else have an interest there? We can do both threads, or lump it all together on one. Further discussion will be needed to start the threads.

Any other ideas?

how about this: just to toss it out, since it hasn't been done. Why not just a parody thread, all comedy...a soap opera, or a police drama...something like that. Where we could make fun of thins and make it all for the sake of laughs. Just a thought. I figured, I haven't seen too many comedic threads, just a few comedic characters.

okay...

Here's an idea, but it may be a little too over the edge, or just plain stupid. Think on this:

We have a fantasy/horror thread based on childhood fears, not meaning that our characters have to overcome them but that meaning that...well, let's try it this way (and this idea is a whole hell of a lot simpler than my usual ones you'll be happy to know).
We'll have good guys and bad guys, though I think most of the fun player characters will be good guys. The setting would be a child's room, a young child but old enough to have a variety of toys. These toys will be the good guys. The bad guys will be other things...like...well, anything plausible, but original that a child might be afraid of in his/her room. Say, a shadow on the wall might look like something...that something in the form of a shadow becomes a bad guy. We anme it, and play it, not making it too evil, as the thread would have to take on a childlike innocence and "cute idea" type style, but you get the picture.
What do you think?

Maybe it's a bad idea, but...

I'm actually debating a Wasteland II...What do you think, Poohlive, bobo?

count me in ...

I am having a blast so far on the Forgotten World thread, but I am always game for another. I am game to join another one too. Count me in.

I might be interested

Depending on the chosen storyline, of course.
I need to actually participate in more threads. All the ones I'm in seem to crash and burn for the most part. Plus I'm so... close.... to.. hundred....... posts.............................

Anyway, I like the post-apocolyptic idea... being 6'2", pale, and folicly-challenged (is that a word?) I can identify with the "stick men". But whatever you decide on.

By the way, kudos on "Know your enemy", pm. exceptional work :D
