yes I do remember....:D

Not to worry Prettygreyes, Beaumont is a ok place (lotsa cowboys and cowgirls), Houston is 80 miles, Lake Charles is about 80 miles ( lotsa nite life with all the Casino's), better yet, New Orleans is about 200 miles. Let the good time roll!!!!!!!! :)

I travel in and about the Houston, Beaumont, Corpus Christi area often. Beaumont isn't that exciting, but Houston, Corpus Christi and Galveston are great. Don't have any idea what sort of lifestyle you're looking for, but Houston is the 4th largest metropolitan area in the nation, just behind Chicago. Traffic is terrible and never signal to switch lanes, they speed up to cut you off if you do (and this is a state that lets you "pack"-- makes it a little scary). I often drive to Galveston at the end of a busy day and sit with my feet in the ocean, smoke a cigar and have a drink before driving back to my hotel in Houston (when you're my age, it's the little things in life that count). I've seen some posts about nude beaches in the area and have always wanted to try one. I'm sure you'll have fun

move somewhere else

If you like freeways and little culture you are heading in the right direction.

check it out first.

I go to Beaumont often...live near Houston.....it seems to be a nice small city...enought resturants and shopping with a big city close if thats not enough for ya.

hi greeneyes

i live in houston... Ive only stopped through beaumont a few times on the way to new orleans. Also once I used their iron kiln at the university, that was tremendously cool... but I'd like to see more of beaumont. It would be nice to get together with you someday if you like.

Beaumont

Beaumont?
What if a person doesn't like severe humidity, hurricanes
a polluted and crowded city like Houston, needs to be where there is an excellent educational system and they don't care
for being around a bunch of East Tx. country good ole boys.
No offense to those in this catagory. Casinos are okay once in awhile, but almost anywhere out side of Tx. exists casinos. It constantly rains, and a lot of petro-chemical plants nearby.
Sorry, but ya gotta tell PGE about both sides of the fence folks.
Oh and you couldn't pay me enough money to swim in the Gulf of Mexico. It is so polluted its sickening. I used to work on a shrimp boat and I have seen things that I would like to forget.
For a more diverse enviroment and your needs PGE the Denver area or The Dallas, Ft. Worth are would be a better bet. Ya I know Denver isn't in Tx. but I am saying this for PGE okay. This isn't for guys that want to give her a "personal Tour". No offense
but she and I are bonded by the heart with love and I will give her a tour of any part of Texas she wants to see.

this is for you PGE (  :rose: )

I must admit, Texas is a place Im want to visit..so far all I have seen is CA and SC..and having been here a year now, it's about time I got my english ass out and around.

not sure you will like it

PGE, I am not sure I would like to live in Beaumont. I was born and raised in Houston, now live in Virginia. First, the weather is very hot and humid from April to October. Second, it is a very conservative place. Lots of oil folks and Southern Baptists. I don't think it is a very pretty town either. It is part of a three city complex known and the Golden Triangle, Orange, Port Authur and Beaumont. It is flat flat flat flat. I urge you to visit and take a look around before you pack up and move.

Of course, what makes or breaks a life is the people who surround you. But if I was just looking to pick up and go, I would not pick Beaumont. If you are from the North, it will be a huge culture shock and weather shock.

Good luck.

Not in Beaumont (I used to live in Austin), but a few hours down I-10 from you in Biloxi, MS. Not very far away.... :rose:

Mississippi Coast

The Mississippi Gulf Coast is less conservative than most of mississppi and beaumont. We have the new orleans influence, being an hour out of there and getting their television on the cable. We have on the coast The University of Southern Mississippi: Gulf Park Campus, William Carey College, and a campus of Tulane University.

Beaumont, Tx.

Hi PrettyGreenEyes,
Do you remember me, it has been a while since we have talked.
What Stevenwill said is true about Beaumont and the surrounding
area. There are many better places to go. Especially with your needs. That is why I had suggested the Dallas, Ft.Worth area
or the Denver area and Boulder. By the way I will get my cell phone turned back on in a week or so. Had to pay other bills first.

Its all to do with your attitude...you'll be fine

Just a quick note to say that just about every town in Texas has SOMETHING nice to ofer to everyone...and I think your attitude will serve you fine. I live in Houston, and the lifestyle in this part of Texas is as good as it gets. Sure we have freeways, like anywhere, sure we have traffic, like anywhere, but you know what a big city has to offer and you know what its cons are too...

Beuamont has some very nice amenities about it, even for a relatively mid-sized town. I think that you just might find yourself amongst some very friendly people, (especially with your extremely attractive body!)

I would be happy to go into more detail - and perhaps a personal tour? - if you're interested!

In the meantime, best of luck to you... and its nice to meet you!
