I'm one of 300 million people. Its direct results with me are irrelevant to the good of the whole nation. Selfish thinking like this is simply not productive.

Actually the homeschooling may intensify my situation but here in the Deep South, conservative idiots abound in public schooling as well. The second thing any newcomer to this area is asked at any age is what church you go to.

I have never fit in. Thank goodness!

Oh and I did trust the government with my kids until my kids begged me to do otherwise. Miserable kids makes mom miserable too, in MY case. I now wish I'd homeschooled from the beginning. If I'd only been aware that were possible!

There's a little bridge near me that got closed after failing inspection that's going to re-open. 300,000 in federal stim money made it happen. I just read that on the can.

I think if some flyspeck bridge in MN needs federal cash to be safe because the governor is going rogue, something must be working.

Are all 10 million out of work? And is there some regulation that your highway department must hire only non-Americans?

maybe if some of them left the trailers and stopped collecting food stamps, they could put their job applications in with the same people the Mexicans got work from.

It was an interesting crowd. About 150 people or so. About 70% were retirement age. I didn't see any young people outside of children. Anyone who wanted to speak was allowed to. Two of the speakers were really holly rollers. A lot of the cars passing by would blow their horns in support. Two yelled out something in support of Obama. One guy on motorcycle was calling us a bunch of babykillers. I don't think he quite got who we were.

The next thing they are pushing is a march in Washington on Sept. 12. One group in Gainesville Georgia has chartered buses for the trip.

There were more than 5000 people in attendance at our local tea party. I did not find the level of intelligence low at all; quite the opposite actually. It was family friendly and the speakers (all but one) were awesome in my opinion with no holy rollers. Yes, "God" and "Christianity" were mentioned but not the focus. The speakers focused on smart spending, fair taxation, and personal responsibility.

What specific ideas were presented with regard to federal budget cuts and fair taxation?

I understand the general concepts, but am interested to learn the details of what was being proposed.
