I know the feeling of the frustration. My friend tells me the whole dating scene her in Illinois sucks and that I would be much better off and happier moving to another state and dating there. He is a ex-marine and runs 3-miles every day so he is in SUPER shape, yet even he has to really work it and has comparatively a LOT of trouble finding someone his age to date. In most any other state he would be pimping like Snoop Dog with the lady folk!


I go to a bar in the suburbs, in Chicago and it seems like Chick heaven-three to five guys to every girl!

Well..I guess the dating scene stinks if you don't like metrosexual men (which most clubs have an over-abundance of). I suppose the dating scene isn't so hot if you want to avoid players (which most bars have thier fair share of). Other than that...Exactly where have you been going? Go to any bar on Division street in Chicago or to any hip club and there are more men then you can shake a stick it (if you happened to be strange enough to bring a severed tree branch into a night club).

Northsiders slam the south-side (usually) but at the bars around here, guys are guys. You will see yuppies and metrosexuals, but in general the guys are men not some primping pretty boys.

hi all, i'm just popping in from north of the border. i don't actually know too much about the dating scene anywhere but the uniform rule seems to be that unless you idea of fun is sitting around drinking in a bar or yelling over needlessly loud (and often bad) music, then there just isn't anyplace to go to meet people.

I am around naperville. This is the land of soccer moms and mini-vans. I haven't lost hope in finding a decent lady that doesn't have: a rap sheet/5 kids/crazy ex-husband/cats/baby fever.

Yeah.
Most of the guys that hang there don't make good friends nor wingmen either. They will stab thier own mother in the back for some drunk skank they just met 5 minutes ago. I know, I rolled with some before I figured out they can't be trusted to obey the old "bros before Hos" rule so I stopped clubbing with 'em.

The women aren't much better there, most are either very fickle, flakey, overly flirty, untrustworthy, unfaithful, or they are gold-digging, arrogant, judgmental, and have over-sized egos to go with thier over-sized silicone breasts because they have the old pampered princess thing going on strong.
