I can tell you that things in Austria are getting really bad. People who can't leave their homes because of flooding are receiving clean water and meals from the army and all red-cross type organizations who travel around in boats and deliver some forms of aid. But some of the historic buildings are being lost to water damage, and people are getting sick because of the constant exposure to cold water...

THis is what I learned from my bf's mom who talked to her family in Austria recently.

Oh, and most phone lines are down. She called everyone in her phone book who lives in Austria, and only reached one person...

have you ever considered that i feel just as bad when this happens in south asia as i do for those people in europe

80 people died from these floods in the first few days of the floods i dont know how many have died now

The waters are supposed to peak tomorrow. Have there been any more reports of lost life? The paper today had pictures of Dresden which has been hit very hard. It showed bulldozers trying to build retaining walls. I hope your friends are safe Siren.

It is a 1000yrs flood, my Father is a fireman and at this moment he is around dresden, I hope he will return healthy
