There's one in Mesa, AZ that might be my next resto project and I was wondering how difficult and expensive it might be to get either OEM or after-market parts. I've reached out the relevant car clubs, but they've been a bit slow in getting back to me.

There are volumes of mechanic humor about British made electrical hardware. Nearly every UK made cars uses Lucas electrical equipment. To say Lucas stuff was unreliable is not fair. You could always depend upon it to shut your car down.

Why do the English drink warm beer? Lucas made the refrigerators, too.

Alexander Graham Bell invented the Telephone. Thomas Edison invented the Light Bulb. Joseph Lucas invented the Short Circuit.

Lucas is an acronym for Loose Unsoldered Connections and Splices.

I had a 1971.... talk to me goose.

The entire interior will need to be redone, from the seats to the dash. Body seems to be in very good shape, though having spent most of its life in AZ, I wasn't expecting much in the way of rust.

Body paint will need to be sorted; engine won't turn over. No idea what the condition of the tranny and suspension are.

I don't think there is much comparability.

Mine was running for a while and then the first or second weekend came around. I was a poor college student and couldn't afford to keep her running.
But damm, could she corner!

Ah, yes. I'm not looking forward to the electrical on this thing.

Then again, it's selling for a song, so the wrench-time may be worth it.

Very familiar..everything available on the aftermarket. When you finish restoring one it will be worth about half what you have in it...........and by the way..compared to a modern Miata/Z3/Z4/ S2000 they suck to drive. Any one of these other cars is way cheaper to buy and drive...and nicer.

giving that description you got a long road ...it is gonna be tough probably impossible.... you would have to make the car so un original there's not gonna b worth a whole lot later

It's a project car, so purchase price (it's practically a steal, hence the interest), shipping and parts/paint will be the sole costs. All the work will be done by me and two friends.

You'd buy it. Don't lie.
