Anyone ever heard of VIA Institute?

I got an unsolicited email from them and oddly enough, it didn't get filtered out by spam protection. I'm kind of racking my head over this because I don't give my email out very often and my spam protection is pretty good - if anything it's overzealous.

I googled them and judging by their homepage, they look legit. That is to say, they don't seem to be another 2-bit phishing scam. It looks like what they do is similar to scientology. Does anyone know anything about them?

Spam filters aren't foolproof. And it's cheap to send it out, even cheaper than bulk mail. Plus, every so often, there's something "new" in the spam, and the filter doesn't catch it. You may be over thinking it.

Probably, except I have a feeling that this might be the work of someone I know.

They're kind of in to mind exercises, etc. And this group seems to be in that vein. I have a sneaking suspicion that this person has given my email address out to this company, without my consent. Which I really don't think is right, if it's true.

Before I went accusing them of anything, I wanted to see if anybody knows about this group, and what they're really all about.
