Anyone ever had a good ebook?

I bought like 25-35 ebooks on Amazon so far, and all of them are pretty crap compared to the free stories I read on places like literotica.

My idea when I started this was that I was going to support professional writers so they can continue writing good stories. But what I get for my money is badly written stories, with crappy plots and nothing new or good.

How do you guys feel about this situation? You ever had good ebooks?

Don't understand how that is a plug.

Is it reasonable to assume a self-published e-book on Amazon is likely to have the standard of content, grammar or punctuation one would expect a bookshop book to have? One might hope so but for the price these sell at I think caveat emptor would have to be the rule.

Because both of those books are by R. Richard.

As for the OP, the complaint starts with the false presumption that the books bought at Amazon are all by professional authors. The obvious solution for the OP is to go looking for e-books written by the Literotica authors the OP thinks write better than the e-books the OP has been buying from Amazon. Their writing isn't going to be different at Amazon than here and a good many of them sell e-books on Amazon.

Doh! I thought "shameless plug" referred what OP wrote
I'll get me coat...

I didn't thought about it that way. Anyway, Amazon is the only option I have right now, book stores don't sell erotic books in English here, and the once written in German are imo not that good.

That you are in Germany is new information. You don't mention what genre of books you're looking for either. As examples of what might be available from high-quality Literotica authors in e-books in literary-quality straight genres, you could see if books by Varian Krylov (Abduction, After, Hurt, Dead Souls, Lord Melchoir) or Elliott Mabeuse (The Good Student, which won an Epi in 2009, Hurts Like Love, The Moth's Song, Vampires of Prague, The Love Doctor and Phantasm) are offered on Amazon Germany.

I cite these by example only, because I professionally edit books and edited some by these authors, whose standards were as high as anything I get from mainstream publishers, but if you pick out authors you like on Literotica, chances are good you can find books by them offered by Amazon Germany. My e-books can be found there (and the German market is one of my best).

The bottom line is, whether or not you've found high-quality erotica e-books, they exist--and some of those were written by Literotica authors.

LATER: Confirm that the Krylov and Mabeuse books are available from Amazon Germany (so are R Richard's books, but I haven't read any of those).

Hmmm...didn't we just have a thread on Erotic eBooks and German? They wanted to fine/surcharge/tax/get rid of erotic ebooks. And low and behold, here is someone from Germany asking about ebooks. Interesting.

Well, of course. I only recommend works by authors that I have reviewed, in depth.

Doc Mabeuse is a great writer I read good student and the Love Doctor. He's very talented.

I checked before I posted and I currently have 52 e-books on my kindle from Lit authors. I enjoy supporting the hard working authors here.

Might even have one of yours;)

I've read quite a few good ebooks, and a few that appear not to have been proof read. I have to admit none of the well written ones are sex stories.
