I recently got an email from my good friend Anonymous that started like this:

"Hello it's me again,…"

and ended like this: "I'll be nagging you again in another vaguely monthly time period."

I wonder if it's the same Anonymous who occasionally writes just to chat me up with a friendly, "Please stop writing." I wish I could respond in kind, but Anonymous is too clever for me, the imp.

No, I only get contacted by Anon when he/she/it wants to tell me I suck or my stories suck or the characters in my stories suck or that one guy in that one scene sucked because he acted like an idiot and he/she/it would never have done that in that situation or that I'm sick and should be put to death or that my character got what she deserved because all women are shite (why do they always spell it like that anyway? It's and erotic site, you can say shit without getting into trouble) and should be given "battery acid douches".

Not that I'm not please to hear from he/she/it. I always appreciate constructive criticism.

I got a cryptic anonymous comment on my Group story posted today--something about having proved my point now (whatever that means), that the story was neither erotic nor humorous, and that I should go away and making clear it had voted the story zero. (What was really funny at the time is that on either side of the balloon on my submission page telling me I had this comment were hearts of readers who had favorited the story--which is doing fine in the ratings). And then when I erased that comment, the poster sent me an anonymous e-mail calling me a coward (get that? An anonymous e-mail) and doing all sorts of gender bashing. Erased that too.

Um, we don't use it here, in the US, but "shite" is a common British word. For a while I thought maybe in England they "shit shite." You know? Like "shit" is the verb form of the noun "shite". But I've been corrected.

Anyway ... off topic.

Battery acid douches? That's not something I think about often.

Sr71plt, I think it's super-duper courageous that someone had the hardihood to tell it like it is to not-your-face, incognito style. And then that undercover saint had the guts to go back to your story again and discover your heinous cowardice, then write an courageous angry email. Then when you find that anonymous and murder him/her/it (in cowardly revenge, typical of you), he/she/it can finally be canonized.

I say we shorten he/she/it to shit. It's pretty much the same thing. Right? Back me up, someone.

I got another good one today. Dear Anon wants me to "finish your god damn stories faster," which is encouraging in a sort of cattle prod manner. Anon finished by telling me [shit] couldn't believe that my story was going to end such and such away, asking why would I do that to my characters.
