Anyone else here watch "The Voice?"

I watched the first couple of seasons, but only the audition bits really held my interest. After a few weeks my attention would wander.

I do watch it sometimes. It's sort of a guilty pleasure. I'm mostly impressed by the house band. Those fuckers are amazing.

Yes, I'm actually watching it now. I'll watch it if its on and I have nothing else to do. Plus Adam Levine isn't too bad to look at :p

I was really into it for the first three seasons, but I grew bored of the show. Aguilera in particular bothered me.

I love the Blake and Adam banter.

Exactly. Christina is an ass.

And Blake Shelton seems like he would be so amazing to hang out with. I bet that guy is so fun. Despite Adam Levine's shitty music, he seems pretty cool. And Pharrell is pretty amazing.

Adam. Levine's. Crappy. Music....

Oh shit Jelly. Not his music too?!? Nickelback and Maroon 5? If you tell me you like Chumbawamba we can't be friends.

Have you heard Maroon 5's "Animals" song? Or "Payphone"?

I don't get Blake Shelton and I definitely don't get how the Country Music Association chooses it's superstars.

I enjoy watching the auditions, then I usually attempt to watch the rest of the season but rarely make it through to the end.

I will say that the guy who won the first season, Javier Colon, has the best voice I've ever heard. His performance of Time After Time is one of the best performances I've ever heard. He's amazing. Sadly, I think he did very little after winning the show. He also does a performance of Adele's Someone Like You that is amazing and that's a tall order.

My fascination with the show has little to do with the coaches/judges star status, although they do add to the entertainment value.

My interest is in the fact that the 'coaches' have a vested interest in getting the singers to be the very best they can be. And each of the coaches has their own method of leading/driving the performer to that end. All in all the show is driven by the positive as opposed to 'American Idol' that in many instances is driven by negativity. And everybody appears to genuinely be having fun.

And another aspect of the show that I like is that I keep learning. I sing karaoke, not terribly well, but I love to sing. Each show I pick up something from a coach or adviser that makes me go, "oh yeah, I get that."

I don't have a TV.

Is this an American Idol show, or is it the morning show that used to have Rosie O'Donnel?

None of the above. Google "The Voice", you do have a computer, right?

The fans choose their superstars.

Same as rap...

;)

The first time that I ever saw Carrie Underwood was on Idol. Seacrest was interviewing her and asked how she liked Hollywood and what she was doing on her time off. Walking around, taking pictures. Wha are you taking pictures of? Trees and buildings? Have you seen any stars? No, it's too cloudy at night.

I kinda fell in love with her right then and there...

;) ;)

The only "talent" show I will watch for giggles if it happens to be on is "America's Got Talent".

But that's just to see if Howard Stern or Howie Mandell are going to say anything funny.

Which, by the way, they rarely do anymore.

This is pretty much it for me. I became addicted to it during the first season. The show's concept was so refreshing. The contestants come to the show with talent. The coaches they've had totally invest themselves into making their singers the best they can be. The performances are just flat out entertaining. It's a competition, but everyone is having a blast. The rivalry between the coaches gets hilarious at times. But it's a healthy rivalry.

I do watch the show, it started as a family TV watching time and it continues to this season. I like the mix of judges on there now, since Cee-Lo left it's been much easier to take and Christina is much more palatable. I think she really disliked him in particular and it made her cranky.

Well, it's getting down to the wire now. Unless he screws up royally I'm picking Sawyer Fredericks to go all the way. Megan Linsey will most likely be runner-up.

Fredericks has one of those once in a generation voices. Resonance, power, and range. Throw in the fact that he can bury himself in a song and rearrange it to make it his own and you have a complete package.

I expect great things from the young man as long as he can keep himself grounded. This is the one thing that has proven to be a problem with young artists. I hope he can survive his success.

We've enjoyed the show since season 1, although this year's travel got us away from TV in recent weeks. I think it's because they are building people up, and making everyone more successful that we like it.

We much prefer Usher & Shaquira as coaches to Ceelo & Christina.
