Anyone been solicited?

I received the following feedback message a few days ago.

"Can I use your stories on my website? Credits to the author are displayed with the story and I would also put a hard link to your stories on this site or any other preferable location. Please lmk. thanks!" - irish_pinuck@hotmail.com

I replied that I wanted to see the site before giving permission. When he contacted me again, he said he works for an adult pay site which is looking for original erotic stories.

He still hasn't identified the site, but he says he's going to send me a temporary login. I don't have a very good feeling about this business and probably won't give him permission, but I'm still curious.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has received a solicitation like this. I'd also appreciate general comments.

I received a similar query from a guy who runs a free site called "Lost_boy" or something like that. He's got a lot of stories up there, all of them erotic horror.

I gave him permission, as long as he agreed to give me authorship, which he did. In my opinion, any publicity is good publicity, so why not?

As long as the site posts all pertinent info that "you" want along with the story I agree with Dr M, free publicity. But also why not ask, KenJames, for a free membership to the site. ~laughs

Most pay sites which I know of give free membership to authors who contribute a reasonable amount of writing. Often this is three or four stories worth, just to avoid the 750 words and I don't pay crowd.

If it's a pay site, and your stories will appear on the closed part of it, then they are in face selling your work. Then it's up to you if you want them to make money off your work without getting any of it yourself.

If they offer erotic stories for free, the bottom line is that they want to use your stories to advertise for their pay site. Either way, they'll use your stuff to make their business.

Yes, I have. Just to elaborate more that BlackSnake(LOL), I still haven't followed it through yet.

They have a minimum stories per month, which I might struggle with. I work, have kids, school needs, and lately shit with my daughter and school.

They're pretty reasonable, so hopefully appreciate my delay in responding.

If they're a paysite, who not? Why not make a few $$ on your stories?

Once I get a moment free, I'll certainly contact mine. Money is money.

I got one from a different site, they gave me a small check and membership to the site for the right to post a story. When I finished the story I had to send them a statement saying I gave them the right to post it. I was happy.

Same subject but slightly different, now I have one saying they want to do a like screenplay for a video. In place of the sound audio would be a story and the actors, or in my stories actresses, would be following the story. Has anyone else got one of these? I asked them to elaborate and got more info, but not enough, like HOW MUCH MONEY. I am awaiting a reply to that. Sound familiar anybody?

I got one from a different site, pay site, they gave me a free membership to check out the site to see if I wanted to be associated with them. My portion of the pay was acceptable but I have yet to follow through.
