Anybody want to take my kids for the day? The night? The weekend, perhaps?

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt and the post card.

How bout, I'll take your's, if you'll take mine?

I feel your pain Sarah. I don't seem to ever get a break from mine, plus I keep getting extras!

I would but knowing my state I would end up in jail for Slavery for having them mow the lawn or some such thing.

Cat

Send 'em on over. They'll get lost in the shuffle with all of mine and they'll all have a big time.

How many do you have?

Thanks, Wildcard.

Just two.

But it seems like twenty these days.

I have 5. You should see it when they're all together and get wound up. Of course, there are times when I'm the instigator. I have 5 kids, but my wife swears that she has 6. Just so happens that one of them is 40 :D

Whoever's taking Sarah's kids, swing by and pick up mine on your way.

PLEASE.

We need to start the lit comune with kiddeos...

Lord knows they'd get a better education...

...and there'd always be someone around to watch them if you needed some time apart ;)

I'd watch yours, but I'm not trading. Not to brag, but I'm the luckiest dad ever. Everyone warned me about this year or that being bad, but she's a complete sweetheart and I count my blessings daily. I teach kids every day, so I'm not intimidated. As long as you don't mind the yelling (I inherited that from my dad, the man could stop you from a 1/4 mile away). :D

I teach too.

The problems are arising because daughter is approaching the age I teach.

Do what my sister does. She threatens them that if they misbehave, she'll come to pick them up every day (right in front of their friends) wearing curlers in her hair, a frumpy robe, slippers, and wearing a cleansing mask (singing with a hick accent the whole time).

It worked wonders....:D

It's ok. I just had to remind myself why we don't spank our kids.

I had to remind myself a bunch of times.
What are you talking about? Of course we spank our kids! We do it to show them that parents are people too, and are capable of being driven over the edge of reason, to the point where they strike out physically, but in a totally ineffectual way as far as causing actual physical pain, which reassures that they haven't gone completely psycho. It's an important lesson, very sobering, very enlightening. It generates compassion and an appreciation of limits.

Now parents who spank in a cold, calculated, passionless way, and issue all kinds of theories to support their actions - that's kind of spooky.
