Anybody read "The Secret" (by Rhonda Byrne)

some friends of mine are reading it ,and swear it's the best thing since sliced bread.

anyone tried it? how is 'the secret' working for you?

(apparently another 2 million copies are being rushed into print; it's selling like hotcakes)

I haven't read it, but I just read an article on it in Newsweek. It focuses alot on how positive thinking can change your life (which it can), but it seems like it also implies (particularly in the companion dvd) that if you want something bad enough and focus your desire hard enough you'll get it. Not because you do anything special but just cuz you thought about it. That part of it is a bunch of malarkey (in my opinion).
It also sounds like it's a rehash of alot of other self-help books, particularly older ones.
 
I agree...

...with Sophia Jane. Much of it has been talked and written about before, especially in the works of Napoleon Hill, W Clement Stone, Claude M Bristol, and Joseph Murphy, as well as Ernest Holmes of The Science of Mind, to name just a few. There's nothing new under the sun. :D
