anybody know what "DownloadWare" is?

i never noticed this thing before, except now it's "performing an illegal opperation" and keeps shutting down when i start up Windows.

what the hell is it? i don't remember DLing it. it's been a few months since it says it showed up, and nothing major has been going wrong that i can tell. nothing small, either.

anybody seen or heard of this thing before?

"DownloadWare" is an ActiveX utility. It gets installed on a lot of 'puters when users install the KaZaA Media Desktop.

It's what tells Kazaa's servers that you are on-line... For the most part it is considered a "parasite" program.
