Last week I was speaking with the local Game-type redneck who was trapping beavers around here.

As Beaver Meat is really good for the dogs when it's very cold, I asked if I could buy some Beaver meat from him. Sure.

I just pulled in my driveway to find 4 WHOLE, dead, huge, ugly beavers on my front steps. EEEWWWWW.

I don't know what the hell I was thinking. That it comes in packages like the grocery store? Where was my head??? I am now LMAO at my stupidity.

So if any of you would like some Beaver......!

Its true. beaver is very good meat for your dog. alot of the mushers up here feed it to their dogs. And they give them the tail for a treat. Its just like a big rawhide patti for them.

Hey Coach,

Which area are you in? Are you a musher also?

Hadn't heard about the tail.

No I'm not but alot of my friend are. I'm from northern Ontario. The best way to feed it to them is to freeze it and either give it to them as a block or grind it up fozen and mix with there other food.

Thanks Coach. I've fed beaver before, but had always purchased it ground. The idea of having to skin them is kind of icky to me. My dog # is huge this year, so I'm not about to turn away the free meat.

I know a lot of the Northern Ontario racers (sprint guys)
Hope your buddies have a great racing season, well, as long as they don't beat me!

I think you people are just a little confused. The beaver that most of the dudes who post on this BB are interested in isn't exactly what you are talking about here.

Uhm... Beaver is the national animal for Canada.. and it taste great...

Eat a beaver.. save a tree.. its economaical

Oh, beavers! The flat-tailed members of the rodent family whose pelts made the "voyageurs" travel impossible distances in the 1700's to provide the makings of hats and capes ...

Well, boys and girls, I am certain there is one fellow who used to be the newspaper editor at Mater Dei High School in Santa ana, California, who will be able to tell us ALL about these critters.

This poor lad in the early 1960's published the first edition of that year's school paper with the banner headline, "BEAVER SEASON OPENS TODAY!!!!"

Don't ya wonder where he finished high school?

Ya, home delivery! You guys should try it..
1-800-bea-vers. 4 show up at your door.

What did I do with the tails...what would you do with 4 pieces of tail?
