Sounds like a daunting problem...:)...I would suspect that those guests that are in, or training to be, the food services would bring an accompanying beverage to compliment any dish they may bring...that being said I would tend to be more general in a selection...perhaps a Pinot Noir and Merlot for those who prefer red and a crisp Chardonnay for the white...quantities are hard to predict... :rose:

thanks,,,,quanities especially with mY drunken crew,,ahhahah......pillows and blankets will be on hand for those too drunk to drive,,,,,,I am sooo glad i have my OWN room in the new place(heheeh),,,,,,,,soo boones farm is out of the question i guess?lol

For a meal quantities are usually 1 bottle/2 persons I know this is not a meal per say but I'd stick with this ratio anyway. Maybe try a Riesling.

most definetly!...

Pinot Noir....Northern California to Washington State (I very much much like the Williamette Valley)

Merlot...California has some very nice ones...(Hawk Crest & Berringer come to mind)

Chardonnay's...not my forte but I would tend to look for one with citrus overtones (will compliment food that is mildly spicy)

anyone got ideas for food now?hahha,,,i have some ideas but i dont wanna be all lame,..also..do you think i should add liquor?

okay chardonnay is not crisp, sauvignon blanc is, chard is buttery, definately a pinot noir, not a merlot, people in the food biz sometimes have something against merlot, for a white, maybe a pinot gris, do you know what kind of food is being served

a good white bean dip with herbs and a poblano pepper go great with some pita chips, and its easy as ever

I agree with Fantasy Man, the Williamette Valley produces some very good wines.

I'd suggest you go to a store with a wide variety of wines and ask to speak to their wine master. I don't know where you live, but there's a gourmet food store here that has a fantastic wine selection. My friend and I went in and described what we wanted, without using wine terminology, and we were set up with a relatively inexpensive bottle of wine that has become my favorite.

I've had good luck with Berringer and BV brand wines. Kendall Jackson makes a decent Chardonnay. I've also had good luck with Chilean red wines.
