Anybody had a CT Scan?

The length of time depends on what is being scanned. Scans can take between 10 and 45 minutes. Some, more unusual scans, take longer.

I don't find claustrophobia a problem in a CT scanner but can be a problem in an MRI. If they are scanning your torso then, generally, your head is not in the 'tube'.

I had one of my brain this year. It's more like a ring than a tube. It takes longer to fill out the forms than for the procedure, but moments can seem like months when you must remain perfectly still... I'm sure it depends on how much of your body is being scanned, sorta like how many pages do you want to copy. I bet the technician can give you a good estimate of the time.

Easier said than done, but just relax. The table you are on moves within the x-ray ring, rather than it moving over you.

The iodine injection made my mouth & groin feel hot, & there was a slight taste in my mouth. The needle was the only" painful "part of it, & that's no big deal for a blood donor with prominent veins.

Knowing what to expect would help a lot, I think. If I ever have another it will be a piece of cake.

catscan

What I remember most about it is this incredible sensation that I had pissed all over myself. That lasted for about 30 seconds, then it was gone. The procedure itself was painless. :)

yeah...what she said...I had one too...they were checking my hormone levels, cuz I was lactating, but not pregnant (turned out my paxil was doing it!). But hey they did find out I have more testosterone than the average female! :D

noooo..you don't actually PISS...it only FEELS like you did! It has to do with the stuff they give you in the IV to make your brain show up on the camera....it goes through your blood and you just have the sensation...but then it goes away! You do have to lay there for a couple minutes after; sometimes people feel a little lightheaded. That is the effect of the stuff and the blood circulation also...no problem! :)
