Anybody else trying out for Jeopardy tonight?

I tried out for Jeopardy in 1972 when it was still located in NYC. Don Pardo was doing the voice-over in those days and it was also before the days of Alex Trebek ( Art Fleming was the original host ). I stopped by their office on my drive back to school and was given a written test. In case you don't know it, the order in which contestants appear IS orchestrated.

They couldn't believe I knew the question corresponding to the answer, "Elmo Lincoln was the seventh."

I can't stand the program nowadays. The marketeers have ruined it with all this category segmentation crap. "College" Jeopardy, "Teen" Jeopardy— give me a fuckin' break... and the advertisements... ugh.

"Celebrity" Jeopardy makes me wanna blow lunch.

Really? Orchestrated? In my case, the out-of-towners were scheduled first, due to travel issues, and then the locals. As far as the order of the contestants on the game show itself, that was determined by a draw of numbers.

There's a reason they screen contestants.

Yes. I know. They want "bouncy" people. It makes good TV. However, your post seems to imply {or I'm reading more into it} there's some sort of a conspiracy involved. My experience says different.

Let me leave it at this: the order in which contestants appear on the program is not random.

I can't. I've already been on Jeopardy once. I guess I could take the test, though, and see if I've still "got it".

What an experience. All my friends and family have pushed me to be on the show for over 20 years. I'd love to be on it.

I had a great time. I'll keep good thoughts winging their way to you about this.

I tried out for Who Wants to Be a Millionaire one time. They had "tests" in I think 5 different areas of the country. You had to be one of the first so many to call and get an entry code for the test for your area in order to be able to go.

The test was so difficult, there was an actual Rocket Scientist who failed it. (I'd say only about 2% actually passed the initial test, which was set up like the fast finger intro that they did to choose which contestant got to play.)

I used to be really good at Jeopardy but I watched it the other day and didn't know many of the answers, so I'd probably bomb the test.

Tomorrow night for me. :)

It goes really fast so be prepared...

I just got done taking it. And I think I did my best yet in the 6th time taking the Jeopardy test. Third online and Three Live.

For 20 points:

Answer: Obfuscate

Question: What do some people do when they're caught bullshitting?

It's too late tonight, but I will give it a try tomorrow, or whenbever it is on. I have always done well when watching the program. :)
