Guys? Any suggestions/recommendations for free web hosts/blogging service providers, etc.?

At the moment, I'm intending to go with Tripod (because Geocities don't provide a free service anymore...), and Tripod offers only 20MB of space.... Yola.com supposedly provides 1GB of free space, but I'm not able to upload my own HTML files to their site... I'm still not quite sure if I'm making a mistake or if the fault lies at their end... Typepad and Livejournal again don't appear to be customisable... I haven't tried Wordpress yet...

Sorry for the "somewhat incoherent ramble" nature of this post...

I'd like to hear your opinions, folks...

if all you're interested in is a blogging site, i'd think that wordpress, typepad or blogger would be your best bets, but i suspect none of then will be sufficiently customizable for you, given that you talk about uploading HTML and total space.

what exactly are your technical needs? is this a hobby or a business you're talking about building here?

Thanks for the suggestion of tumblr.com. It looks really good, the only problem being - it doesn't seem to help very much in allowing visitors to leave comments... anyone know how to sort this out?
