Any Subs or Doms out there?

Please go check out the SM thread over in the "How To" board. It is long and full of lots of suggestions and thoughts on most aspects of SM.

(I suggest you delve into it in pieces. There is a LOT there to digest. 2 or 3 pages each day when you come here will get you caught up and fully informed on what has already been covered.)

Thank you for calling me "Blond Girl" and not "Blonde girl" or "Blind girl".

:p

Happy investigating!

I am new to the scene, and am interesting in making this a new career for myself. Any tips for me on how to get started? I have picked up some relevant books (the Laurelei books and read the websites you have suggested). I also plan to go to a club this weekend to better check out the scene. So what advice do you have for someone turning pro? Appreciate anything you can tell me! --Bright blessings, Kitten
Hi kitten. I got your pm about this (above) and while i was trying to think of some way to answer you, this thread popped up! So, i'll just answer your questions here if i may.

First off, i don't have any firsthand knowledge how one would go about turning into a BDSM professional. If i have to guess a good starting place, i think i'd say to go round to some BDSM clubs and ask for an application.

Are you sure you're Domme material? You say you're new to the scene. What kind of experience do you have? People may not be willing to pay you to learn as you go. Maybe they will. I'm certain, though, that Domination isn't something you can fake. Either you know how to dominate someone or you do not. There's really not much middle ground, and certainly not much room for inexperience when someone is paying for the experience.

Again - i may be wrong.
I've never had anything at all to do with pro Dom/mes.

Go to a club.
Begin asking.
Let us know, okay?
We could all learn something from this.

And here's the thread BG mentioned: http://www.literotica.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=39661&perpage=20&pagenumber=1

I agree with Cymbidia...if you're new to the scene, jumping in as a professional might be a hard thing to do. Just some friendly advice, since the actual acts are very different than the books. I would suggest finding a sub who is willing to work with your learning process or even finding a good dom/me to help you out. (The best Dom/mes know both the top and bottom. :))

I would also suggest joining a local BDSM club to make some contacts and get to meet people. You will get a feel for who is out there, their expectations and if you would really like to be a professional. I'm not sure if Cymbidia is part of a community, but sometimes is can be a closed group. As part of a club and with some good contacts, I'm sure doors will open for you.

I wish you well :)

Ahem. What us S/switches? ;)

In all seriousness, good luck kitten!

I wish you well,
Susan

Have you tried your local temp service? Be sure to let them know you are only wanting part time work and don't forget to ask if they will provide your velcro collar. You might want to start as a sub and work your way up the ladder. Who knows? Within a year you might go full time! It's a tough business, but the benefits are great!

Good luck in your new career, kittengirl.

I've been into the D/s scene for many years. The last five I've spent 24/7 as a Gorean slave to a wonderful Master/Husband.
of all the things I could suggest it would be
Don't Lock yourself down too early
Do explore as many different things and people in bites as possible.
and Be seen, Be known.
Go to the Munches, as many as you can, Go to the Demo's as many as your schedule fits in, Go to the club parties, and dinner parties. The people around you will expose you to more knowledge and "Hands on" ~pun totally meant~ experience just by conversation, than any book could offer. There are just things practical people find out thru trial and error that no book could offer.

You crack me up, BR!

I *SO* wanted to say that but wouldn't/couldn't/shan't/can't/won't allow it of myself, here, about this subject.

I'm **SO** glad you said it.

She is a bitch, yes?:) So funny to me.

Kitten, beware, being a professional domme is not what it appears from the outside, yes?:) Talk closely with one first, to understand the nuances and the perils

She *is* a bitch, yes, but so funny and so pointedly correct. I love reading her stuff.

Kitten?
Pro Domming is a job to those who do it.
Remember that.

It's not at all like scening for the pleasure, for the thrill, for the heat and wet and moaning release. It's a job, just like any job, with more risks and less security than most, too. Think it over - *especially* if you're new to the lifestyle.

How... why... how did someone new to this decide they wanted to be a pro Domme when they grew up anyway? How does that happen? I'm pretty sure guidance counselors don't point people toward that as a good career path - at least not unless things have changed drastically since the last time i talked to a guidance counselor.
