Any seamstresses hanging around?

My dress pattern calls for a lining. I'd like to add a shelf bra between the layers. Is this doable and how much of a PITA is it going to be? The fabric's quite sheer, but it's called "bubble sparkle" so how could I resist?

If you need more details, just PM me. I'd write everything here, but I can already see people nodding off.

I think it would be depend on the style of the dress and how sheer the fabric and lining is. It might end up looking a mess if it's too sheer.

Sundress with a sweetheart neckline and a full circle skirt. The fabric is lipstick red so it's not that sheer; it's a pucker-y knit so there's a little bit of body there, but it's still floaty. I'll self line {probably} and make the bra part out of nude stretch mesh.

I suppose this is where I add in the gratuitous sexy bits so the vast majority of Lit's readers aren't too disappointed.

Update: Trying to figure out the logistics of what I want {and can see quite plainly in my head} can be compared to building Escher's "tuning fork" out of two by fours. I've decided to just follow the pattern and skip all the tweaking.

The dress is for my upcoming umpteenth class reunion and since the entire graduating class has already seen my breasts in living color on the silver screen, attempting to be discreet at this point seems rather silly.

It doesn't matter what they've seen. It only matters what you leave them wanting, my dear good witch. ;-) Even though I've seen my wife's a few half dozen million times or so, I still find myself staring at her cleavage in a tasteful blouse.

Enjoy your reunion!

Its doable if you build the skirt onto the under bra (like a corset) and then place the sheer over it. Then the wasteband and skirt holds the 'weight' of the under bra while the sheer fabric on top appears to do so....
