Are there any Litizens here in the San Antonio area who play Disc Golf? If so, speak up!

I wish you could be up here...one of our largest state parks (McIver Park--over 2,700 acres on the Clackamas River) has an 18 hole disc golf course that is really cool. I was just in that park earlier this week and, although there are usually some people playing the course--there is always room to play. Great deal, too--pay the three bucks to enter the park and you can play from 7am until 9pm if you wish. Sorry for the hijacking...back to your quest for San Antonio people. :)

Hijackers are welcome here *grin*

That's cool about the state park having a course.

We have 2 near us; one has, I think, 24 holes. It is a really nice one. The other one has 18 and is nice, but I don't like it because it is too hilly.

Do you ever play Disc Golf? If not, you ought to give it a try. You can start out with just plain generic "Frisbee" type discs instead of buying the real golf discs, until you decide whether or not you like it. That is what we did.

I do like it...I have two different discs and this course has lots of huge trees, doglegs, and alot of it borders the river. It is also a country setting, so it is very quiet.

Good! Glad you like it.

Just make sure you've got a floater for that water hazard! I learned the hard way....lol I waded in after a brand new disc that wasn't a floater. I wound up spending the evening in the ER getting my foot treated for a really nasty cut. Yeah, I'm stupid. lol

LOL A floater won't do me any good here--they do whitewater rafting on that stretch of the river! The disc would be 1/4 mile downstream by the time I got to the waters edge. :)

Ahhh....yeah, well, you can kiss those discs goodbye! Just make sure you use either the cheapies, or the oldest, most beat-up ones for that hole! lol
