I'll make a start.

We love the (erotic) books that are published bij Könemann and Taschen. Now, Tashen has a (very nice) shop in Paris that is worth a visit. We bought a few books there and I'm attaching the covers here.

The address is:

Librairie Taschen
2, Rue de Buci
75006 Paris
(Tel 01 40517922)
Métro: Odéon

Hi M's girl.

Rue de Buci is my favourite street in Paris. great libraire's and cafes.

I am heading back to Paris in late September 07 for two weeks. It is 3 years since my last visit. I lived in Paris for 12 months in 2001.

Ciao D

I made a point of one day each week walking around one androissement. In this way I got to see all of Paris. Seems to me you have spent quite a bit of time in Paris. Have you and M visited any of the clubs?

I am keen to stay in the Hotel Bucci, at least for one night. I cannot recall the cafe pic, the one I normally sat at was opposite Pauls. Nice to sit and view the passing of people.

I enjoy the musuems and gallerys. Looking forward to going back and seeing more. And naturally the French women..so chic.

Hey M's girl
Thanks for the reference to the clubs.

There are others I may look to visit also, Pluriel , especially with the right partner.

Sorry for not posting this in French (my French is too poor in writing  ) ... I was wondering if there are people from Paris here...

Leaving for Paris the day after tomorrow and would love to get some 'insider' tips on what to do and where to go. I've been to Paris many times so I've seen all the regular stuff you might say. I have a list of things to do/places to go and the Buddha Bar and Restaurant Kong are on that list.

More suggestions anyone?
Thanks in advance!

depends on what you need...

héhé, c'est un forum Français, ici.... LOL

Ok, the so-called "red-light", aka Pigalle, ain't what it used to be. Since the passing of some laws, the sex-scene has moved underground. No more girls in the streets or in the clubs, or so few. the only thing worth visiting (if you don't want to be priced €200 for bad sparking wine and a cheap show) is the Musée de l'Erotisme on boulevard Clichy.

The Crazy Horse saloon, avenue George V, offers a brilliant, sexy, classy nude show. You can go for the show and a glass at the bar only.

In the recent years, strip clubs with lap dancing have opened, like the Stringfellows (owned by H. Heffner) or the Pink Platinium (managed by DJ and producers David and Cathy Guetta), both in the VIIIth district. They are expensive, but worth the price if you like the American athmosphere of these places.

If you're looking for swingers clubs, try the Chandelles, the 2+2 or Chris et Manu. But beware, some clubs are allowing single males in (for a fat wad of cash), so check for the couples only nights ('xcept if you'r looking for a 15 men-1 woman ratio).

If you're a high heels and shoes addict, Ernest, in Pigalle, is a must.

Etam and 1-2-3 have both a large lingerie departement (on the rue de Rivoli). It is not Victoria's Secret or Aubade quality, but more affordable and some outfits are quite sexy. And they have a "toys" corner, too :D

There is a really wonderful restaurant with an excellent view on the Arc de Triomphe named L'Etoile. It's on the upper price scale (say, 300 € for two with 3 courses, wine and a glass of champagne), but worth it if you book in advance and get a table with the view. They have a club downstairs but I've never been there.

Hi M, seems you may have missed the great bookshop in Rue de Buci that normally had a great selection of fetish books, perhaps it is there no more since my last trip.

Pigalle was not that good, and the Moulin Roufe was intersting to see, Crazy Horse I prefered. There is or was a nice adults striptease joint just along from Buci. I went with a partner (the same one) on two occasions..very nice women. They have private rooms if required. We had a private show on one occassion as the lady had come-on to my partner in the main room and came-on to her even more in the private arena. They seemed to allow this there at the time. It was just along from an irish bar on a small thorugh street as I recall.

Chauderlos, thanks for the other options, although 300Euro is getting quite pricey for me.

The 6, New York is good too, but right on the street, so it's quite noisy and the view on the Eiffel Tower ain't that good.
If you're looking for dinner with a view, why don't you try the restaurant on the top floor of the Centre Pompidou (Beaubourg)? The view is breathtaking there, but... the management seems to have a low opinion on tourists ansd tend to seat them near the toilets or the kitchen. Better have a French speaking person book the table for you.
An other with-a-view address is Flora Danica, on the Champs Elysées. But you may not be interested in Danish food in Paris...

In the rue de Buci, you'll find the Arbuci, a good restaurant with a jazz cellar that provides good sets and sometimes photography exhibitions. The Lionel Hampton jazz club is also a good haunt if you're a jazz aficionado. Both are not my favorite club, but I shall keep my favortie address a secret - for now :D

I'm not that versed in fetish bookstores, there was once the Les larmes d'Eros bookstore near Bastille but I haven't checked if it still exists in the last years. If you really want to know, when I shop for erotica or porn, I go to one of the Concorde stores, usually the one rue du Dahomey in the XIth (near Nation).
