Hopefully we can get a little bit of a forum going on here with others interested. kindof a no boundaries thing. Ah, who am I kidding. For the short time that I have been here, I've noticed the no boundaries thing going. So let's hope this is the beginning of a good thing.

Celtic Pagans

I'm doing a study of small groups of people in Ireland who seem to be Mithrasic. Amongst many other interesting things that they are expert at, including divining, is a seemingly Persian form of what we would now call tantric sex. They believe the orgasm is a huge force of energy for good if properly controlled.

Sure, if anyone's seriously interested in this Mithrasism, then contact me - research is on-going but obviously there's a long established connection between the cults of Persia, Egypt and points east brought to the western isles via the Phoenicians & the Roman armies who, though they never conquered Ireland, brought ideas there indirectly.

So let me know if you'd like more on this.

I'm really interested in the fact that Wicca is so popular in North America when there are so many aboriginal shamanistic belief systems going but...

I'm a Pagan ! Wiccan, actually. I stumbled onto this site a few days ago and my mind has been racing. I've been looking for a place like this online, though I didn't realize it.
There is so much eros in Wicca and the Pagan lifestyle that it screams to be written about. And, as open as Pagans are, bringing up the subject of erotica with them still causes a bit of mistrust. I would love to compare notes with you or anyone else that reveres the Goddess.

I was torn too kypsalis. Till I thought about the circular nature of everything, the vast concepts underlying all existence and the limited/linear possibilities presented by Christianity.

I'm not against Christianity. I tend to agree with the Dali Lama, if a religion...any religion...helps to make you a better more positive person, that's a good thing! Pity that attitude isn't, for the most part, found within Christianity...

Best advice I can give you is follow your heart.

Ain't technology grand?

I guess my problem lies with Jesus. I've read the historical accounts and there is no question in my mind that he existed. His teachings were definately what I believe and I have a great deal of respect and love for him. Unfortunately the christian religion hasn't lived up to his expectations at all.

Wicca on the other hand presents ideas and values that are important to me also. And Jesus' teachings followed very closely the concepts of wicca. In my mind the two have already merged but its coming to terms with some of the things Jesus didn't say that I believe is my problem.

Would he have agreed with me if I were to sit down and have a conversation with him? That's really my dilemma.

Oh well, I guess this was just a group of ponderings. Input anybody?
